February 4th, 2013 Card Making Class

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Hope everyone is doing well.  Below are the cards we made in our last class.  The flowers on this card were made by quilling 4" gold strips into marquis shapes and glue five petals for each flower.  The flower bud was made by quilling a 3" strip and shape it into a heart shape. Glue flowers and bud on top of green die cut vine and add green blings on top of each flower.  Add sentiment sticker onto white square panel and glue in the opening.
This sympathy card was made by tying a gray ribbon on the die cut frame before adhering the background paper behind it.  Adhere this finished panel onto a white card base.  Stamp sentiment with black ink on white card stock and punch out using Stampin' Up designer label punch.  Punch another out of purple paper, cut in half and adhere behind the sentiment to mat it.
This hiking card was made by applying Tim Holtz distress ink (spiced marmalade, wild honey and peeled paint) using the applicator in a circular motion starting off the page to create the card background.  Stamp hiker with black ink onto background panel.  Adhere onto brown card stock, wrap brown ribbon around toward the bottom.  Adhere the panel onto ivory card base.  Stamp sentiment with black ink onto cream card stock, punch out using scallop circle punch and sponge brown ink around the edges. Adhere onto brown circle and mount onto bottom right corner with foam tape to finish.
This next card was made by adhering the heart sticker onto the white die cut scallop heart.  Adhere onto large black circle.  Punch a 1/8" hole on the top of circle to loop through black & silver ribbon and set aside.  Add sentiment sticker onto medium size circle and add clear blings as shown.  Punch a 3/4" circle out of white card stock, add small silver onto the punched circle as shown and adhere it onto small black circle.  Adhere photo corners onto a black and gray flowers pattern paper before adhering onto white card base.  Adhere the circles onto card as shown with foam tape.
This 3D Calla Lily card was given as homework assignment.  Cut the image off a 3D sheets and mount each layer on with foam tape.  There are 4 layers total.  See side image below for more details.  Mount everything onto white card base and tie olive green sheer ribbon on the side as shown.
No class on February 18th due to Presidents Day.  So do your homework and bring your card in to our next class on March 4.  By the way, as a reminder our class time has been changed to 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. due to the school needing the classroom for their regular students in the morning.
