January 6, 2014 Card Making Class - Winter Session

Happy 2014 everyone!  Wow, where did the time go???

Hope everyone had a wonderful time visiting with families and friends.  Our first class for the Winter Session started this past Monday and here's a recap.

This Valentine card was done by first sponging a white heart doily with pink ink.  The red heart was made using Spellbinder scallop heart die and emboss with small heart folder.  The small script heart was also cut using the small Spellbinder scallop heart die from script pattern paper.  Adhere the heart layers using runner adhesive as shown on to beige shimmer card base. Add red bow with pearl on top.  Add gold sentiment and heart stickers to finish.
The next card was made with a yellow frame in front using the Spellbinder scallop square die.  Sponge edges with pink ink and wrap polka dots ribbon around the bottom half of frame.  Tie a faux bow and adhere with large glue dots in center as shown.  Tape a piece of flower vellum in the back of frame and adhere the whole front panel onto white card base.  Be careful not to let any adhesive show through the vellum window.  Adhere gold birthday sticker in center of vellum to finish.
This next card was made by using 2 largest Spellbinder Label Eight dies to cut out the floral pattern paper and silver card stock.  Wrap black floral sheer ribbon around center of the silver panel before adhering onto floral pattern paper and adhere onto black card base.  Adhere silver floral and butterfly sticker onto white oval scallop and tape in center using foam tape.  Punch out a small scallop circle and adhere onto bottom corner of card using foam tape.  Finish off with silver sentiment sticker.
This next card uses a pre-cut beige card base with a circle window in front.  Punch out top and bottom border of a 3" cream card strip.  Wrap a brown stitch ribbon around lace border strip before adhering to card front.  Add "Thank You" sticker onto brown scallop circle before adhering to center of brown ribbon & lace strip using foam tape.  See picture below for what appear behind the window.
The floral silver sticker was placed onto a piece of scallop circle water color paper and colored with Twinkling H2O watercolors.  Sponge the edges of the scallop circle with brown ink before adhering piece on to the inside of card base to finish.
Well that's it for now.  The next class meeting will be on February 6, 2014.  No class on Jan. 20 due to MLK holiday.  We will be making an Iris Folding rose for an anniversary card.  So bring your Scotch tape and get ready to have some fun!
