Fall 2024 - Handmade Greeting Card Workshop, November 6, 2024

Emboss Dragonfly: Emboss blue background panel with embossing folder and lightly brush Twilight Versa Clair ink over panel. Stamp, heat emboss and die cut dragonfly. Add ribbon, stamp sentiment and gems before adhering onto white card base as shown.

Grateful For You: Stamp leaves bundle with clear VersaMark ink all over mustard card panel. Stamp sentiment on terra cotta card stock and punch out. Add ribbon, gems and die cuts pumpkin, squash & leaves onto card panel before adhering to cream card base.

Iris Folding Sailboat: Follow pattern using the color/pattern papers to complet card as shown.


Birthday Bear: Emboss the front die cut frame with flower embossing folder. Stamp bear with balloons on watercolor paper. Color image with watercolor pencils. Fold and glue card together as shown. Add bow & sentiment to finish card.

Fall 2024 - Gel Printing Workshop - October 9, 2024

Ocean Birthday: Brayer light blue acrylic paint and lift 1st print. Brayer aquamarine acrylic paint and place embossed wave cardboard onto gel plate, and lightly rub all over to transfer pattern onto gel plate. Place 1st print back on gel plate to pick up wave pattern for the 2nd print. Die cut with rectangular stitch die, and stamp turtle, seahorse and corals onto print. Brush Warm Breeze Vera Clair ink around edges, add gems and stamped sentiment before adhering to white card base as shown.

Safari Animals: Brayer orange and yellow acrylic paint and lift 1st print. Brayer opaque gold paint and dab off some paint using crinkle paper to create patterns. Place 1st print back on gel plate to pick up pattern for the 2nd print. Die cut with rectangular stitch die and stamp animals onto print. Add washi tape and stamped sentiment before adhering to black mat and cream card base as shown.

Dragonfly Birthday: Brayer Twisted Citron & Bundled Sage Distress inks onto gel plate. Place script stencil on top, place paper over and rub evenly to transfer image for 1st print. Brayer gel plate again with leftover inks from brayer and replace 1st print back onto gel plate to pick up more background colors. Die cut with rectangular die and adhere onto black mat. Add ribbon, die cut dragonfly, gem, stamp sentiment and adhere to card base as shown.

Autumn Leaves Thanks: Brayer Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade & Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide inks onto gel plate. Repeat with left over inks on brayer to add more colors. Die cut with shape die and deboss with 3D leaves embossing folder. Brayer metallic green acrylic paint onto gel plate, place the debossed leaves panel on top and lightly rub to pick up green paint onto the flat surface areas. Add stamp sentiment and ribbon before adhering to cream card base as shown.

Fall 2024 - Handmade Greeting Card Workshop, October 2, 2024

Alcohol Inks on Vellum: Add pink, purple alcohol inks & blending solution onto felt applicator. Sponge color onto vellum panel. Tape vellum on ivory frame and add gold butterfly, sentiment and corner stickers onto panel before adhering to pink card base as shown.

3D Floral Embossing: Using 3D embossing folder to emboss flowers onto watercolor paper. Color image with Distress Crayons and blend it with baby wipes. Assemble card with stamp sentiment, black mate and green bow before adhering onto green card base.

Birthday by the Sea: Mask off each section of white card panel and sponge blue ink around edges of section. Stamp image in each section with Twilight Versa Clair ink. Add stamp sentiment and black mat before adhering to navy blue card base.

Faux Emboss Vines: Using Stamping platform to stamp vines with white ink onto kraft card panel. Shift the card panel slightly (1/16 inch) and stamp vines again with Pinecone Versa Clair ink on top of previously stamped image to create the faux emboss illusion. Add gems, stamp sentiment and adhere onto white mat panel before adhering to dark brown card base.

Fall 2024 - Gel Printing Workshop - September 25, 2024

Hope you are well. Below is a quick recap of the cards we made in class. Next class will be on October 9th. See you then.

Thinking of U Flamingo: Brayer a thin layer of metallic green acrylic paint onto gel plate and lift for background print. Brayer a layer of gold acrylic paint onto gel plate, place swirl leaves stencil on top and place the green background print over to add the swirl leaves pattern onto background print. Die cut print to size. Sponge flamingo body, wing and stamped sentiment with Rose Bud ink and color beak with black Sharpie. Assemble card together as shown.

Butterfly Bithday: Brayer pink ink onto gel plate, place butterflies stencil on top and place paper over to lift background print. Remove stencil and place the background print back on top to lift remainder patterns onto print. Die cut with scallop rectangular frame die. Assemble card with ribbon, sentiment and butterfly die cut as shown.

Safari Animals: Brayer yellow acrylic paint onto gel plate and pull yellow background (1st) print. Brayer orange paint onto gel plate, place a circle mask on top corner for the sun and place yellow background print on top to pull the orange sky (2nd) print. Brayer brown paint with a small amount of black paint at the bottom. Place a torn sheet of scrap paper on the top part of the gel plate, and place the 2nd print back on to pull the mountain and ground (last) print. Die cut to size and stamp animals and birds images. Assemble card with sentiment sticker as shown.

Best Wishes Floral: Brayer purple Distress Oxide ink onto gel plate and pull background print (do not clean brayer). Die cut shape and emboss image with 3D Floral embossing folder. Brayer remaining Distress ink onto gel plate and place the embossed panel back onto gel plate. Lightly rub the raised areas to pick up more colors to add depth to embossed images. Use sponge dauber to rub on colors to edge of raised images. Assemble card with ribbon, sentiment and gems as shown.

Fairy Fun Fold: Stamp fairy and birthday sentiment with black ink on small white card panel. Use sponge dauber to brush on Angel Pink Memento ink in the center and around edges. Color image with glitter gel pens. Stamp flowers with Angel Pink ink on the right edge of the large white card panel for the inside card. Fold card base panel along scored lines. Add gems and bow and assemble card as shown.
Bleached Floral Bouquet: Stamp floral bouquet with clear VersaMark ink onto terra cotta card panel. Add black embossing powder and heat emboss image. Use small paint brush to paint image with household bleach. Add gems and ribbon before adhering to black mat and ivory card base. Add stamp sentiment to finish card as shown.

Pumpkin Iris Folding: Using pattern paper and follow Iris Folding pattern provided to complete this card. Add bow and stamp sentiment with gems to assemble card as shown.

Batty Halloween: Stamp bats with black ink onto white card panel. Place circle stencil over card panel and sponge on yellow, orange, purple and green inks. Die cut panel with rectangular stitch die. Add ribbon, gems and stamp sentiment to assemble card as shown.

Fall 2024 - Gel Printing September 11, 2024

Fall Florals Just For You: Brayer Spiced Marmalade, Antique Linen & Twisted Citron Distress Oxide inks onto gel plate. Place the 3D debossed side of the floral image on top of gel plate, rub lightly to transfer images and remove. Place a white sheet onto gel plate to pick up the image left on the gel plate and die cut shape. Place the die cut shape in the 3D embossing folder to line up with the floral image and run through machine to deboss image. Brayer remaining inks onto gel plate and place die cut panel back onto gel plate to pick up more colors. Repeat a couple more time to add more colors to the panel as desired. Add ribbon and stamp sentiment before adhering it onto burgundy mat and ivory card base as shown.

Jelly Fish BDay: Brayer Peacock Feathers and Peeled Paint Distress Inks onto gel plate, place swirls stencil on top, place white paper over and rub to transfer pattern on to paper. Remove the stencil and place the paper back on to pick up remaining swirls pattern left on gel plate. Die cut frame with scallop rectangular die. Stamp jelly fish with black ink onto background print and color with blue and purple watercolor shimmer paints. Assemble card with stamp sentiment and gems as shown.

Good Day Flowers: Brayer a thin layer of white iridescent acrylic paint onto gel plate. Place drops of pink and purple shimmer watercolor inks onto gel plate and brayer lightly and evenly over gel plate. Place flower stencil on top, place white paper over and rub to transfer pattern on to paper. Remove the stencil and place the paper back on to pick up remaining flower pattern left on gel plate. Die cut frame with rectangular stitch die. Add die cut cup sentiment, gems and assemble card as shown.

BDay Seashells: Place seashell stencil onto gel plate. Brush on copper and gold perfect pearl powders for seashells and dark and light blue powders for bubbles and water. Wipe off any excess powder and remove stencil. Brayer a thin layer of iridescent white acrylic paint on top. Place paper on top and rub well to lift print. Die cut with stitch rectangular die. Add stamp sentiment and assemble card as shown.

Summer 2024 - Handmade Greeting Card Workshop, August 14 & 17, 2024

Below is a recap of the cards we made in our last Handmade Greeting Card class.

Registration for the Fall session will be available starting Monday, August 19, 2024, and the Handmade Greeting Card Workshop will begin on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the Malaga Cove Campus.

Watercolor 3D-Emboss Peacock: Spray water to saturate the watercolor paper before adding blue and green H2O watercolor to cover paper panel. Add drops of gold watercolor to add accent color panel. Dry off panel before embossing image using 3D Dancing Peacock embossing folder. Add gold corner sticker and sentiment to finish card as shown.

Pastel Dragonflies: Stamp dragonfly images using clear VersaMark ink onto white card panel. Sponge on pink, yellow, green and blue chalks to color stamped images. Brush off powder and emboss panel with diamond embossing folder. Add ribbon and sentiment to finish card as shown.

Faux Embossed Fern Leaf: Stamp leaf with white ink onto green card panel. Move card panel about 1/16" and stamp same image with green ink on top of the previously stamped image to give a faux embossed look. Add gems and green bow to finish card as shown.

Vellum Flowers Birthday (front): Glue embossed floral vellum panel onto front of peach card base. Wrap ribbon around small peach card panel and adhere to vellum card front. Stamp sentiment onto scallop circle and adhere on top of ribbon panel. Add gems and butterfly on top.

Vellum Flowers Birthday (inside): Glue pop-up mechanism inside of the peach card base. Adhere one end of the acetate strips to each end of the pop-up mechanism. Adhere the butterflies onto the other end of the pop-up mechanism. Stamp sentiment onto white card panel and adhere on top of peach card panel before adhering to the top of the pop-up mechanism.
