Hello ladies,
Sorry for the late post. Time just flew by as usual especially this past week. It's the last week of school for the kids, but somehow it didn't slow down at all. It might actually get more hectic with my son's x-country starting on Monday and his Summer school starting on Wednesday. Poor kid! He only gets a couple days off! At least my daughter gets a week off. No time off for Mom though! Anyway, enough of my whining! Below are the cards we made on our last class meeting.
This father's day card was an inspiration from my friend Ana. The card is top folded. The collar is cut from 3/4" from the top fold and about 1" from each side. The cut edges are folded down at an angle at the 1-1/4" from the each edge. Brads are added by punching the hole through both layers of the collar and only the top layer of the card. The tie was made by tying a single knot on the top and tucked underneath the collar using glue dot. The sentiment was stamped on white card stock and matted with a brown card stock.
Since Alice requested a wedding card, I thought of these heart bride & groom I saw a Dawn Studio website. With some of my own twist, this is what we ended up with.. The groom outfit was made with a heart punch from white and black card stock. The black jacket was made by cutting a 1/4" slit in the center and folded back, and then glued on top of the white heart. The bow tie was made by folding a black strip of card stock in half and cut out a tiny triangular shape. Unfold it and you get the bow tie. The bride outfit was made by taping an embossed white heart slightly below the pink heart and adding 3 gems in front. The Happy Marriage sentiment was placed above the cut heart, the rings were placed in the center and Best Wishes was place on the inside right above the heart so you can't see it from the front.
This hamburger card was also inspired by Dawn Studio. The bun was made with 2 tan large ovals, 1 chocolate large oval for the meat, 1 red 1-1/4" circle for the tomato, 1 small green scallop circle for the lettuce, and 1/2 yellow square for the cheese. The sentiment was stamped on white card stock, punched out with a 1" circle punch and mat on top of a small tan scallop circle.
This palm tree was stamped with Staz On ink on top of glossy card stock. The background was achieved by applying the Spectrum autumn colors ink with a brayer. The sentiment was stamped on beige card stock and punched out on large oval punch.
Well, that's it for now. Have a great Summer everyone! Hope to see you all back in the Fall!
