September 16, 2013 - New Fall Session Card Making Class

Hello everyone,

It has been a busy Summer shuttling kids back and forth to all their activities.  Glad that was over for now!  Hope you had a great Summer.

Our first class started last Monday and I would like to extend a warm welcome to our four new students, Holidae, Carene, Maxine and Lee!  ... and a warm welcome back to my regulars as well, Ellen, Lesley, Carol, Barbara, Lynne and Romy!

Below are the cards we made on Monday.  This first card was done by first stamping the butterflies with Perfect Medium ink onto black card panel.  Then using the small paint brush, apply blue, purple and gold Perfect Pearl powders onto the stamp image.  Brush off excess with the large brush and spritz lightly with water to seal in the colors.  Tie gold ribbon onto bottom of black panel and adhere the panel onto gold sheet and adhere onto white card base.  Finish off with the gold sticker sentiment.
This next card was made by first cut out the leaf image using a Spellbinder leaf die out of the mustard card panel.  Place the mustard card panel on top of white card panel and trace the leaf pattern onto white card panel.  Remove mustard panel and set aside.  Add double-sided tape or runner tape onto the leaf image of the white panel.  Layer the strips of color papers next to each other as shown to cover the image.  Add ribbon to the bottom of the mustard panel as shown and tape on top of white panel.  Stamp sentiment onto white card stock and punch out using scallop oval punch.  Sponge orange ink around edges of scallop oval and adhere onto card panel with foam tape.  Mount the panel onto olive green card base.
This Halloween card was made by adhering the pattern papers onto white card base as shown.  Adhere candy corn ribbon in between the two pattern papers.  Add the ghost image onto card as shown.  The ghost image was cut from a fabric panel and backed with double-sided tape to keep image from fraying.
This birthday card was made by adhering 3/4" wide color strips of card stocks onto white card base.  Stamp cake and confetti images twice onto white card stocks with black ink.  Punch out images using 1" circle punch.  Adhere circle images onto card with foam tape.  Finish off with Silver sentiment on the bottom of card.
That's it for now.  Have a great week and see you on 9/30!
