Hope you had a great Thanksgiving enjoying your time with family and friends. We had a nice time with our son home for the weekend. He was homesick and hungry for Asian cuisine. We loaded him up with some supplies to take back for 2 more weeks of school and finals before the Winter break.
Any how, below are the cards we made at our last class. This washi quilting card was made by cutting the hearts using the Sizzix heart die out of cardboard and thin packing foam (3 each). Glue the foam and the cardboard heart together to give the dimension. Rough cut the washi paper about 1/4" larger than the heart. Glue the heart to the back side of the washi paper, lining up the edge to the bottom point of the heart. Cut slits around the curves to allow the ease in folding up the edges and glue in place to create each quilted heart. Adhere the hearts and pre-cut flowers to card panel as shown. Add sticker sentiment and bling to finish.
This next serviette (napkin) card was made by painting the mod podge onto a white card panel to fit the background image of a paper napkin. Paint mod podge onto a smaller piece of clear vellum (the size of the sail boat) for the 3D effect. Allow a couple minutes for the card panel and vellum to dry. Peel off the white backing(s) of the paper napkin leaving only the top layer with the image. On top on an ironing board, iron the napkin lightly to remove wrinkles and place the glue side down toward the back side of the image. Cover with a sheet of scratch paper to protect the glue from getting on the iron. Iron lightly to adhere the layers. Using the white card panel as a guide, cut out the background piece. Repeat the ironing with the vellum positioning over the sail boat image. Cut out only the sails and the boat. Using an embossing tool over some foam, emboss the vellum back side to give the curve look. Adhere with foam tape over the image. Adhere the completed panel over dark green card panel before adhering everything over a beige card base.
This next card was made by stamping the images with clear VersaMark ink over glossy white card stock. Using a roller apply the multi-color Spectrum ink over the stamped glossy panel. Keep rolling in one direction starting off one end of the page to off the other end of the page to create a smooth ink blend. Keep rolling until the desired color intensity. Set aside. Stamp the swirls onto the aqua green card base with VersaMark ink. Apply blue Perfect Pearl powder on top stamp images with a paint brush. Brush off excess. Adhere the glossy panel onto card base to finish.
This last card was made by cutting half circles out of double sided card stock (thinner pattern paper would have been easier to fold). It's difficult to explain on the folds. So I will prepare a sketch for this later. Email me if anyone is interested in getting the sketch. Adhere the folded trees onto card base as shown. Add stars, sentiment and snowflakes stickers to finish.
