Spring 2025 - Handmade Greeting Cards Workshop, April 30, 2025

Hello everyone,

Hope are doing well and enjoying the sunshine. Below is a recap of the cards we made in our first class. Our next and last class for the Spring session will be Wednesday, May 14 and Saturday, May 17, 2025.

Embossed Best Wishes: Emboss peach card panel with swirls embossing folder. Lightly swipe Moonlit white Brilliance Ink on the raised surface of the embossed panel and brush White Perfect Pearl powder over the panel. Adhere peach embossed panel onto brown card panel and wrap ribbon around before placing onto ivory card base. Place silver stickers and gems onto scallop vellum circle. Add glue in the back of vellum behind the stickers and gems and adhere onto the card center as shown.

Front Step Pop-Up Balloon: Fold 4 1/4" x 11" bright pink card base in half. Score and fold 4" x 9 3/4" white card at 2 1/4" and 4 1/2". Adhere cards and floral pattern papers as shown. Stamp and heat emboss hot air balloon with Distress pink embossing powder on white card panel. Adhere onto bright pink card panel and place onto the front panel. Add bow, gems and sentiment as shown.

Faux-Step Stencil Floral: Score and fold 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" green card base panel at 3/4", 1 1/2" & 3 1/2". Fold 3" x 8 1/2" green card front panel in half. Sponge flowers on 2 3/4" x 4" white card panel using floral stencil and Memento inks. Adhere to front of green panel. Add gems and stamp sentiment to finish as shown.

Polished Stone Seaside View: Add few drops of rubbing alcohol and reinkers (blues and silver) onto sponge applicator. Apply ink onto glossy card panel. Stamp seaside image using black StazOn ink.  Assemble card panels together as shown. Add sentiment sticker and twine to finish.

Spring 2025 - Gel Monoprinting Workshop April 23, 2025

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to our Gel Printing class. Below is a recap of the cards we made in our first class. Our next and last class meeting for the Spring session will be on May 7, 2025.

Flower & Butterflies Birthday: Place small drops of yellow, pink and red acrylic paints in various spot on gel plate. Brayer lightly to cover plate without over mixing it. Cut out a piece of the print to place behind green flower die cut panel. Stamp and die cut butterflies and sentiment on remaining print. Assemble card together on yellow card base as shown. Add ribbon and gems to finish.

Just For You Sea Life: Brayer Hero Arts Ombre ink onto gel plate. Stamp swirl patterns on top, rub and lift print. Die cut frame with round corner stitch rectangular die. Stamp fish and seahorse using Warm Breeze Versafine Clair ink. Stamp corals with Memento Sand ink. Add sentiment and adhere onto blue mat before adhering to white card base.

Dragonflies and Fairy Birthday: Brayer Spun Sugar, Wilted Violet and Concord Grape Distress Oxide ink onto gel plate. Place swirl stencil on top and use a piece of scratch paper to rub and transfer the swirl patterns onto gel plate. Remove scratch paper and stencil. Place white paper over gel plate and rub well before lifting print. Die cut frame with rectangular stitch die. Stamp fairy, dragonflies and flowers with black ink. Put circle mask over fairy image and sponge Grape Jelly Memento ink around circle. Color image with gel pens and add lavender gems before adhering onto white card base.
Perfect Pearl Sea Horse: Place swirl stencil onto gel plate and brush various color of Perfect Pearls all over top to add pattern to gel plate. Clean off excess powder and remove stencil. Brayer a thin layer of metallic green acrylic paint over the gel plate. Place paper on top, rub well to transfer the image and lift print. Die cut frame with rectangular stitch die. Stamp sea horse with VersaMark clear ink and heat emboss with holographic black embossing powder. Assemble card with black mat as shown and add sticker sentiment before adhering onto aqua card base.

Winter 2025 - Handmade Greeting Cards Workshop - April 2, 2025

Mica Stain Butterfly: Sponge and stamp scripts & ivy leaves using Speckles Egg Distress Oxide ink onto white card panel for background image. Spray Mica Stain colors onto butterfly die cut. Adhere butterfly on white card panel. Add pearls and sentiment sticker before adhering to aqua card base.

Alcohol Lift Florals: Sponge Pink, Blue & Yellow alcohol inks onto Yupo paper. Ink florals stamp with Alcohol Lift ink and stamp onto inked Yupo paper. Lift stamp and place paper towel on top image to absorb any wet alcohol inks before gently wiping off to reveal the floral image. Adhere panel behind white die cut frame and adhere to metallic green card base. Add pearls and stamp sentiment to finish.

Distress Oxide Poppies: Place circle mask onto white card panel and sponge Antique Linen, Dried Marigolds & Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide inks on white panel. Stamp poppies with black ink and color with markers. Adhere onto black mat before adhering to yellow card base. Add sentiment sticker to finish card.

Sunflowers on Embossed Background: Emboss yellow card panel using embossing folder. Sponge die cut flowers and leaves. Add orange washi paper on diagonal cut edge. Stamp and punch out sentiment using Acorn Versafine Clair ink on yellow card panel. Add orange gingham bow and finish card as shown.

Winter 2025 - Gel Monoprinting Workshop - March 26, 2025

Hello everyone,

Hope you are all doing well.  Our last Gel Printing class has come and gone. How time flies! 

Below is quick recap of the cards we made in class.

Gelato Background: Spritz some water all over gel plate. Scribble pastel green, pink, blue & purple gelatos on gel plate and place stencil over gel plate. Place a watercolor card panel on top and rub well to pick up print. Lift panel, remove stencil and place a 2nd panel onto gel plate to pick up remaining color print. Stamp image with black ink and die cut with rectangular frame die. Adhere onto black mat and white card base. Add sentiment to finish card as shown.

Distress Oxide Emboss Butterflies: Brayer Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean & Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks onto gel plate. Place flowers stencil on top, place white paper over top and rub well to pick all the flowers pattern. Lift print and remove stencil. Brayer evenly over the gel plate with the remaining inks on the brayer and gel plate to smooth out the inks. Replace original print back on to pick up additional colors for the background. Die cut with rectangular stitch frame and emboss with butterflies embossing folder. Add stamp sentiment, ribbon and gems before adhering to shimmer beige card base.

Alcohol Inks Mermaid: Brayer a thin layer of white iridescent acrylic paint onto gel plate. Add a few drops of rubbing alcohol onto gel plate before adding various color alcohol inks on top. Use blower to spread inks around to cover gel plate. Place stencil follow by white paper on top to pick up pattern. Remove stencil and replace paper over top and rub well to pick up remaining inks onto paper. Die cut shape and emboss with wave embossing folder. Adhere panel to card base, add die cut mermaid, gems and sentiment to finish card.

Acrylic Paint Zebra: Brayer yellow and copper acrylic paints onto gel plate. Place paper to lift 1st background print. Brayer some raw umber acrylic paint on the bottom of gel plate and place 1st background print to lift up the additional color. Die cut frame and stamp images with black StazOn ink. Adhere panel onto black mat before placing onto white card base.

Thinking of U Stickers: Apply gold peef-off butterflies & sentiment stickers to vellum panel and glue onto washi paper. Adhere paper onto gold mat and onto ivory card base.
 
Lighthouse Iris Folding: Follow pattern to adhere the pattern papers to negative die cut panel. Sponge Paris Dusk Memento ink onto bottom card front and Bahama Blue onto top card front. Add sentiment sticker to finish.

Floating Bridge Flowers Birthday: Emboss pink panels using floral embossing folder and adhere to the sides of bright pink card base. Stamp sentiment to white panels. Sponge die cut flowers with Rose Buds Memento ink. Assemble sentiment stamp panels and die cut flowers and leaves onto card base as shown.

Life Simple Pleasure Birthday: Stamp and color image with watercolor pencils. Adhere onto black die cut frame. Fold double-side card base and adhere front panel as shown. Add stamp sentiment and assemble card as shown before adhering to black card panel.

3D Emboss Red & Gold Flowers: Brayer a layer of gold acrylic paint onto gel plate, place the deboss side of the floral cardboard panel on top and press lightly to imprint the image onto gel plate. Remove cardboard panel and let gold paint dry completely. Brayer a thin layer of red acrylic paint over the gold image on gel plate, place white paper on top and rub well to make sure all the images transfer onto the paper. Die cut frame and place print into 3D folder to match up images for debossing. Assemble card together as shown. Add gold glitter to flower centers, gold sentiment on pink vellum and corner stickers to finish card.

Distress Inks Honey Bees: Brayer Mustard Seed, Wild Honey & Spiced Marmalade distress inks onto gel plate. Place fabric wrap on top, place white paper over and rub to pick up patterns. Remove fabric wrap and replace paper on top to pick up the rest of the patterns from the gel plate. Die cut frame and adhere onto black mat before placing onto white card base. Add honey bees die cut, gold gems and stamp sentiment to finish card as shown.

Wild Birthday Cheetah: Emboss yellow card panel with spot prints. Brayer a thin layer of gold acrylic paint onto gel plate, place embossed yellow card panel on top and rub lightly to pick up gold paint on raised areas. Die cut with rectangular stitch die. Sponge Tangelo Memento ink on the edge of rectangular panel. Stamp cheetah and sentiment onto white card panel. Die cut shape & color cheetah. Adhere color panels onto card as shown.

Hummingbird & Flowers Birthday: Brayer Spun Sugar, Festive Berries & Wilted Violet distress oxide inks on gel plate and lift print. Die cut with rectangular shape die. Stamp and heat emboss hummingbird & flowers on colored print with white embossing powder. Add gems and stamped sentiment onto ivory card base to finish card as shown.

Fun Fold Lighthouse (open): Fold card base and adhere pattern papers as shown.

Fun Fold Lighthouse (front): Stamp and heat emboss lighthouse with navy embossing powder. Die cut image with oval stitch die. Sponge edges with Bahama Blue and Paris Dust Memento inks. Adhere to blue oval mat. Add stamp sentiment to finish card as shown.

Deboss Florals: Apply Lulu Lavender Memento ink onto debossing side of embossing folder. Place lavender card panel into folder and run through machine. Adhere card panel to black mat, add die cut white circle with pattern paper, ribbon, flowers and sticker sentiment befor adhering onto lavender card base.

Double Embossing Special Day: Deboss ivory card panel with diamond embossing folder and then emboss with 3D floral embossing folder. Swipe Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo distress inks onto panel. Sponge on additional Vintage Photo distress ink as desired and adhere onto black mat. Add stamp sentiment, die cut butterfly, gems and ribbon before adhering onto ivory card base.

Three-step Stamping Rose: Stamp 3-step rose and leaves image onto white card panel using Angel Pink, Rose Bud and Lilac Posies Memento inks. Stamp rose with Rose Bud ink onto pink card panel. Adhere pink, green and white card panels onto white card base as shown. Add bow and stamp sentiment to finish card.

Winter 2025 - Gel Monoprinting Workshop - February 26, 2025

Birthday Angel Fish: Brayer Tumble Glass and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide inks onto gel plate. Place swirl stencil onto gel plate and stamp script over the top. Remove stamp and stencil and place paper to lift print. Die cut rectangular frame. Adhere die cut fish, gems and stamp sentiment before adhering onto white card base.

Easter Bird House: Brayer Antique Linen and Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide inks onto gel plate. Place Floral stamp on top and press in the image and remove stamp. Place paper onto gel plate to lift print. With the remaining inks left on the Floral stamp, stamp image onto the lifted print. Use scallop frame die to die cut print. Stamp Bird House image with black ink onto die cut frame. Color image with Prismacolor pencils. Add gold sticker sentiment and adhere onto ivory card base to finish.

Embossed Hibiscus Flowers: Brayer a thin layer of gold acrylic paint onto gel plate. Place 3D embossed banana leaves cardboard on top of gel plate and lightly press leaves image onto gel plate and remove. Let gold paint dry completely and brayer green acrylic paint on top. Place paper over top to pull print. Die cut frame and emboss leave images with 3D embossing folder. Sponge die cut flowers with Tangelo Memento ink. Assemble card together with gems and stamped sentiment onto white card base as shown.

Perfect Pearl Birthday Roses: Place stencil onto gel plate and brush gold Perfect Pearl to cover all open areas of stencil. Clean off all excess powder and remove stencil. Brayer a layer of magenta acrylic paint on top, place paper on top and rub well to lift print.

Birthday Sailboats: Sponge Grape Jelly & Danube Blue Memento inks onto white card panel. Stamp sailboats, birds & sentiment with black ink. Color boats with red marker and assemble card as shown.

Dragonflies on Acetate: Apply pink, purple & blue alcohol inks onto acetate with felt applicator. Stamp dragonflies with Hickory Smoke Distress Archival ink onto acetate. Wipe stamped acetate with dry paper towel to remove ink and reveal dragonflies images. Adhere acetate behind white floral die cut frame before adhering to white card base with foam tape. Add sticker sentiment and gems to finish card as shown.

Stamped Dragonflies: With the alcohol inks remained on the dragonflies stamp lifted from the acetate (from previous card), stamp image onto white card panel. Die cut stamped panel with rectangular stitch die. Adhere onto purple mat, add sheer ribbon, sentiment and gems before adhering to rose card base.

Fun-Fold Teapot (front): Place teapot and sugar bowl stickers onto watercolor papers and color with watercolors. Fold double-sided pattern card panel and assemble card as shown below. Finish with stamped sentiment.

Winter 2025 - Gel Monoprinting Workshop - February 12, 2025

Hummingbird Birthday: Brayer Tumbled Glass and Twisted Citron distress inks onto gel plate. Place music stamp on top to impress image and pull print. Die cut frame and stamp hummingbird using black ink. Color image with Prismacolor pencils. Add gems and stamped sentiment before adhering to blue card base.

Shamrock Love: Brayer Peeled Paint and Mowed Lawn distress inks onto gel plate. Place shamrock stencil on top and place paper over and rub all over to print shamrock images. Hold on to paper on one end, remove stencil and place paper back down to pick up remaining images left on gel plate. Die cut frame, add gems and die cut shamrock before adhering to green card base.

Dog Treat: Brayer Antique Linen and Walnut Stain distress oxide inks onto gel plate. Place embossed paw print cardstock on top and press lightly to transfer image. Place paper to lift print and die cut frame. Emboss paw print using embossing folder. Sponge print edges with Vintage Photo distress oxide ink. Stamp dog and sentiment using black ink. Color and cut out image & sentiment. Adhere image, sentiment and card panel together onto ivory card base as shown.

Vellum Fairy: Brayer Cantaloupe and Tangelo Memento inks onto gel plate. Use fan brush to sprinkle some gold ink on top. Plave vellum onto gel plate to pick up print. Use frame die to cut both vellum and white card panels. Emboss floral wreath onto vellum with embossing folder. Pierce corners of both panels and attached with gold brads before adhering to bright pink card panel. Add gold fairy and sentiment stickers and gold Stickles onto flowers as shown.

Easter Bunny: Place oval template on top of white card panel. Sponge Pear Tart ink around oval edges and hill mounds. Stamp tree, bunny and berries with black ink. Use pink gel pen to add blossom to tree and pink liquid pearl to berries. Adhere to black panel, tie ribbon and add sticker sentiment before adhering to yellow card base.

Birthday Coastal: Stamp and color beach scene with watercolor pencils. Assemble pattern and color panels together as shown.
Shamrock Iris Folding: Follow iris folding pattern to assemble card as shown. Add ribbon and stamp sentiment before adhering to green mat and ivory card base.

3D Emboss Friends: Die cut and emboss lavender card panel. Swipe VersaMark ink across raised image and brush with Perfect Pearl. Add ribbon, gems and stamped sentiment before adhering to ivory card base.

Winter 2025 - Gel Monoprinting Workshop - January 22, 2025

Embossed Cherry Blossom: Brayer yellow, pink & lavender acrylic paints onto gel plate and pull 1st print. Brayer red, metallic red & purple acrylic paints onto gel plate, place embossed cherry blossom cardboard on top and rub lightly to imprint the blossom design. Remove cardboard and place the 1st print onto gel plate to pick up the cherry blossom design onto the print. Die cut shape and place it in the 3D embossing folder to line up with the cherry blossom image and run through the machine to emboss the print. Sponge gold paint, add gems and adhere onto ivory card base. Add gold scroll stickers and 'Hello' sentiment to finish card as shown.
 

Alcohol ink & Vellum Butterfly: Brayer a few drops of hand sanitizer gel onto gel plate. Add drops of pink, purple & gold alcohol inks on top. Use blower to spread alcohol ink around to cover the gel plate. Place the die cut medallion and a piece of white paper over top, rub all over to transfer the design onto gel plate and pull the 1st print. Let inks dry, remove die cut medallion and brayer a light layer of white iridescent acrylic paint over gel plate. Place white paper on top and rub thoroughly to lift 2nd and final print. Die cut rectangle and adhere onto pink card base. Add vellum butterfly, gems and stamp sentiment to finish card as shown.

Thinking of You Flowers: Brayer Antique Linen & Victorian Velvet Oxide inks onto gel plate. Place swirls stencil on top, place paper over top, rub well to transfer design and pull 1st print. Remove stencil and place the 1st print back on top to pick remaining design for final print. Die cut frame and stamp flowers with black ink. Color flowers with Prismacolor pencils. Adhere onto lime green card base and add stamped sentiment to finish.

Silver Embossed Seahorse: Brayer Bahama Blue Memento ink onto gel plate, lightly spray some blue & green Mica Stain ink on top of gel plate, place mixed media card panel on top and let the ink soaked in. Remove print, let dry and die cut with rectangular frame. Stamp seahorse with clear VersaMark ink and heat emboss with Iridescent Silver embossing powder. Stamp seaweeds and fishes with Stormy Sky Distress ink in background. Adhere panel onto black mat before adhering onto white card base. Add stamped sentiment to finish.
