Winter 2025 - Handmade Greeting Cards Workshop - January 15, 2025

Happy New Year everyone!

Hope you are doing well. Below is a recap of the cards we made in our first class. Next class meeting will be on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

Embossed Hummingbird: Stamp & heat emboss hummingbird with white embossing powder on white card panel. Sponge Memento inks onto card panel and use paper towel to wipe off any inks on the embossed bird. Dry emboss panel with floral embossing folder. Mount panel onto black mat, add ribbon and stamp sentiment before adhering onto lime card base.

 

Distress Mica Stain Octopus: Spray green & two shade of blue mica stains onto watercolor card panel. Spray water onto both side of a bubble stencil and place in between the inked card panel and a plain watercolor card panel. Run the sandwich stack through the machine to emboss the bubbles onto both card panels. Adhere die cut Octopus onto inked card panel before adhering to black mat and white card base. Add sentiment and gems to finish card as shown.

Seahorse Shaker: Wrap acetate around the 2nd embossed bubble card panel from the previous card to create a shaker pouch and place some iridescent flakes inside before sealing it. Adhere the wrapped bubble card panel behind dark blue frame before adhering it to light blue card base. Add silver seahorse and sentiment stickers to finish card as shown.

 

 

 

 

VersaMark Roses: Stamp roses randomly onto pink card panel using Clear VesaMark ink. Adhere die cut rose wreath and sentiment onto stamped panel before adhering onto black mat and ivory card base. Add gems to finish card as shown.

Winter 2025 - Gel Monoprinting Workshop - January 8, 2025

Happy Valentine's Day: Brayer Picked Raspberry & Festive Berries Distress Inks onto gel plate and add heart stencil on top. Place a piece of scratch paper over top, rub to press the heart images onto the gel plate, and remove the paper and stencil. Place a white paper on top to pull print for the background. Die cut rectangular shape, stamp and heat emboss Valentine sentiment and heart design with red embossing powder. Adhere print to red mat before adhering to ivory card base.

Perfect Pearl Butterfly: Place stencil onto gel plate and brush gold perfect pearl powder to add design on gel plate. Remove stencil and brayer purple acrylic paint on top. Place paper over top and rub thoroughly to pull print. Die cut rectangle and butterfly underlays. Adhere to white die cut pattern panel and vellum butterfly together. Add sentiment and gems before adhering to white card base as shown.

Sea Life Birthday: Brayer a thin layer of white iridescent acrylic paint onto gel plate. Add blue and green alcohol inks and press cardboard wavy design over top. Place paper on gel plate and rub well to  pull background print. Use rectangular die to cut print before adhering behind the sea life frame and glue color sea creatures on top. Adhere to black mat, stamp sentiment and add ribbon before mounting onto white card base.

Thinking of U Floral: Brayer Twisted Citron & Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks onto gel plate, add floral stencil and place scratch paper over top. Tap lightly in different areas to transfer some designs onto gel plate. Remove stencil and place paper over top and rub well to pick up background print. Die cut shape with rectangular die. Stamp floral design using VersaFine Clair Green Oasis ink. Adhere to black mat and add stamp sentiment before adhering to white card base as shown.
