Hello everyone,
Well Spring is here even though it's still chilly out there. We had our first class last Monday and I had a full house! A warm welcome to all the new faces! All the running around is good exercise for me as I so needed it!
Anyway, this first card is short version of a teabag folding method. The flower was made by punching five 1-1/16" circles out of double-sided pattern paper (orange on one side and green on the other). The circles were first folded in half to find the center, and then the bottom half of each circle was folded into a "V" shape for each petal. Put the five petal together with the "V" pointing in the center to form the flower. You may need to adjust it as you go along. Adhere onto green stripe circle sticker and adhere onto card base. Add orange strip sticker across and poka dots oval on the bottom of card base. Add gold sticker sentiment and orange bling as shown to finish card.
This next card was inspired by Darlene Design using Tim Holtz distress inks and sponge applicator for the background onto a white die cut from Spellbinder. The image was stamped with black ink on top. The 1" blue paper strip was adhered onto a white card base before adding the stamped image. Add the silver sticker sentiment to finish.
This next card was made using an embossing folder (either Sizzix or Cuttlebug) on a light brown card stock for the texture background. The circles were cut using Spellbinder circle dies on white and brown card stock. Stamp bear with brown ink and adhere the circles together as shown. Adhere the green pattern paper onto brown card stock before adhering onto texture background. Tie a ribbon around the bottom half of the assemble panel before adhering to card base. I left this card without sentiment so I can add it later. It would probably make a good masculine birthday card.
This last card was inspired from the Papercrafts magazine. The white background was embossed with the poka dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug and rounded off the corners. The pot was die cut with mustard card stock and the Sizzix original pot die. The edges of the pot were sponged with orange ink. The leaves were punched with EK Success punch and sponged with green The veins on the leaves were scored with a dry embossing tool. The flowers were punched out of pink card stock using EK Success small flower punch and embossed before gluing them onto card as shown. The pink flag was added by popping up the middle with foam tape and finished off with a silver sticker sentiment.
Well that's it for now. Our next class will be Monday April 15th (tax day) from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Have a great week!
