Happy New Year everyone!
Hope all of you had a wonderful time visiting with families. I know I did even though the weather was unusually warm. Finally, I have some time to sit down and update my blog. So here are the cards that we made in our last class. Better late than never I guess.
This first card was made by punching 6 hexagons out of double-sided card stock (gold polka dots on one side and green on the reverse). With the polka dots side up, score a line from corner to corner as shown on the dotted lines in the diagram below. Fold along the score lines to form a diamond shape. Repeat the same for all 6 hexagons. Punch out an extra hexagon out of some scratch paper. Glue each folded hexagon onto the spare hexagon lining up on each side of the hexagon to form the shape below. After gluing all the hexagons together, adhere the assembled shape onto a red scallop circle and add a red gem in the center. Adhere the assembled piece onto green olive long card base. Add bow, sentiment and more gems to finish.
This next card was made by stamping the flowers on the bottom of each white card panels as shown. Color with markers and adhere the small white card panel onto a burgundy card panel. Punch a small hole on top to attach a sheer purple ribbon and tie a simple knot. Adhere the large white card panel onto a burgundy card base and adhere the small assembled panel as shown with foam tape. Add sticker sentiment to finish.
This Christmas tree card was made by using a technique I saw on Splitcoast Stampers. First, trim the red pattern paper with deckle-edge scissors and adhering onto a ivory card base. Using a white gel pen, add dots at various spots onto a die cut green tree and let dry. Next add some color chalk onto the white dots and spreading the colors beyond the dots to simulate the bright lights. Add gold trim stickers for garlands as shown. Finish off with a gold sentiment sticker.
This holly card was made using a technique called "Serviette" (means paper napkin in French). The image is from a cocktail napkin glue onto white card panel using Mod Podge for the card background. The 3D affect was done by adding a second layer with only a few of the holly leaves and berries glue onto vellum, cut out and embossed before adhering onto the card background with foam tape. The image background is then adhered onto red card panel before adhering onto white card base. Add sentiment onto small red card panel and adhere on the bottom of card base as shown to finish.

Classes will be held on 4 Mondays from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 6, Feb. 3, Mar. 3 & 17. (No classes on Jan. 20 & Feb. 17 due to holidays). There will be a $20 materials fee ($5 per class meeting).
