Happy New Year everyone!
Another year went by and now we're in 2015! How time flies whether you're having fun or not! For my new students and my regulars, welcome to another class making session! It was great to see you all.
Below is a recap of our first card making class. The first card is a pop-up box card for Valentine's Day. The card was made with a 12" x 4" card stock, scored at 2", 5-1/2", 7-1/2" and 11" along the 12" length of the card stock. Turn card and score at 2" along the 4" side of the card. Cut each of the score lines to midway. Cut off the top from the 11" score line to end of card to leave a small tap at the end to tape to the opposite end to form the base of the box. Cut two strips of card stocks at 1" x 4-3/4" and score at 5/8" on each end and tape them to the inside of the box as shown. Decorate with pattern papers and heart and swirl shapes as shown.
This next card was made by stamping the beach scene with black Staz-On ink onto watercolor paper. Color with Inktenz watercolor pencil and use H2O brush to blend color as shown. Cut edges with deco edge scissor and glue onto blue card base. Stamp sentiment on white card stock and punch out using designer label punch. Glue onto card base and add black bead as shown.
This fish card was made by rolling 3-color Brilliance ink onto glossy white round sticker. Peel off sticker and tape onto green-gray panel. Punch out all four corners and tape onto white card base. Peel-off Starform fish sticker and place on white card stock and color in fish with markers. Cut out fish and tape onto glossy round with foam tape and add sea weeds stickers around fish. Add sentiment sticker to finish.
The butterfly card was made by die cutting the butterfly on white glossy card panel. Dry emboss the white panel with embossing folder. Sponge color the white panel as shown. Trace the butterfly opening light with pencil onto the Kraft card base to mark the opening and remove the . Add tape on top of the traced opening and lay the color ribbons on top, budding the different color ribbons right next to the last one to cover the shape. Tie ribbon around the base of the colored white panel and tape onto card base, making sure the opening is centered over the ribbon covered shape. Add sticker sentiment and colored die cut butterfly onto card as shown.
That's it for now. Our next class will be Monday March 2 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Happy Valentine's Day and have a great weekend!
