Fall Card Making Class - December 13, 2021

Hello everyone,

Hope you are having a nice holiday season and staying dry. Below is a recap of the cards we made at our last class meeting.

I am offering the same class at two locations for the Winter 2022 Card Making for convenience. Please email me if you have any questions.

Mondays' class is at Rancho Del Mar starting January 31st from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Tuesdays' class is at Malaga Cove starting February 1st from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Gold Floral - Using 3D Embossing folder to emboss background, rub gold ink on top, brush w/ Gold Perfect Pearl powder & finish with ribbon & sticker sentiment as shown.

Pop-up Friendship - Glue floral pattern paper on to scored panels, stamp sentiment on white card stock and assemble together as shown.

Hydrangea & Butterfly - Stamp hydrangea on white card stock, color w/ color pencil, stamp & punch out sentiment, glue butterfly paper on card base and assemble together as shown.

Snowflake Shaker - Glue snowflake pattern paper onto blue card panel, die cut snowflake window, attach clear acetate for shaker window, add foam tape around the window to form a sealed well, add snow, tape on stamped tree background to close out shaker window, and tape panel to card base.

Fall Card Making Class - November 29, 2021

Hello everyone,

Hope you are staying warm and dry. Below is a recap of the cards we made in our last class.

I also included a preview of the cards we will be making on Monday, December 13, 2021. Please bring your regular color pencils (if you have them) and plenty of foam tapes (for the shaker card).

Birthday Card: Stamp moose, eagle, bear and sentiment on pattern papers as shown.

Rose Layer Stamp: Stamp different layers of rose petals and leaves using light and dark color inks to create depth. Use border punch to create decorative scallop edge.

Seahorse Birthday: Use shell embossing folder to emboss shimmer blue card stock for background Cover die cut seahorse with Perfect Medium and brush on different Perfect Pearl colors.

Gold Poinsettia: Stamp and heat emboss poinsettia with gold embossing powder. Color with gold Brilliance ink, add gem, ribbon and sentiment to finish card.

Fall Card Making Class - November 15, 2021

Hello everyone,

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. Below is a recap of the cards we made in our last class.

Dragonflies Bleach Technique - Stamp w/ VersaMark ink and heat emboss w/ black embossing powder. Use fine paint brush to paint with household bleach inside each dragonfly. Finish mounting on black mat and beige card base as shown.

Hibiscus Fun Fold - Glue hibiscus paper on panels, stamp sentiment on white card stock and assemble the layers with embellishments as shown.

Carved Wood Thanksgiving - Score ivory card stock at 1/2" interval, swipe coffee and dark brown ink across ivory stock to create wood grain look, deboss with scroll embossing folder and swipe gold ink over top. Embellish with ribbon, turkey, pumpkins and sentiment to finish as shown.

Glue the green card center into a tower and attach the four panels to each side of the tower as shown.

Attach pattern papers to each of four panels as shown.

Stamp and color reindeers and sentiments and attach with foam tape as shown.

Fall Card Making Class - November 1, 2021

Hello everyone,

Hope you are enjoying the sunny days. Below is a recap of the cards we made in our last class and a preview of the cards we will be making on Monday.

Lilies - Sponge orange and green ink over stencil layers on cream card. Add bling, ribbon and sentiment. Layer on top of green mat and cream card base.

Pink Floral - Stamp w/ VersaMark ink and heat emboss white embossing powder and brush on Rose Bud Memento ink on white card stock. Add sheer ribbon and sentiment over vellum & pink card stock.

Punch out 2 1/2" circle from card front and blue card stock, Stamp dolphin, star fishes and sentiment using Bahama Blue Memento ink.  Punch out sentiment and fuzzy cut out dolphin. Assemble together and add bling as shown.

Apply thin layer of Mod Podge over white card stock and vellum. Adhere napkin images over both card stock and vellum. Cut out images and assemble them together on cream card base as shown.  Add sentiment sticker on punch label to finish.

Simple Floral Bouquet - Stamp bouquet onto color background paper, mat w/ white card stock & mount onto embossed card base.

Stacked Tea Cups - Stamped w/ Staz On ink on watercolor paper & colored w/ watercolor pencils

Flying Kites - Stamp kite on color background paper & cut out. Adhere pattern papers onto folded panels & stamp greeting onto white card stock.

Thanksgiving Pumpkin - Stamp pumpkin & greeting w/ Versamark onto burgundy card, brush on gold Perfect Pearl. Assemble folded card panels as shown.

It is difficult to believe that 18 months have gone by since our last class meeting.  It was so great seeing everyone (almost) in person again.  A big welcome to our newest member, Rhonda!

Happy Valentine's Day!

 Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.  I am anxiously waiting for things to get normalize and I can resume teaching my card making class again. 

Meanwhile, I have been busy hosting the monthly online Help A Hero Club's meeting with a small group of PV Peninsula High School's students making Iris Folding cards. We hope to raise more money from the sale of these cards to make donations to Operation Gratitude soon.  We were selling the cards at the PV Peninsula Library Shop, but the library has been closed and not sure when it will be open again. 

These cards are also available at the Aloha Bungalow located at 1799 S. Catalina Ave in Redondo Beach, CA 90277. The shop owner is a PVPHS alumna. So if you live in the South Bay area, please stop by to support this cool little small business and for the good cause.

On a happier note, two of my family members and one of my ex-coworkers are all expecting their first baby in late February, June and August. So, I have been busy making these baby items. More to come!
