Well our Summer Gel Printing Class has come and gone. Hope everyone enjoyed the challenge and the unpredictable process of gel printing.
Below is a recap of the cards we made at our last class.

Butterflies Birthday: Brayer Antique Linen, Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral and Fired Brick Distress Oxide Inks onto gel plate and roll off excess ink onto a piece of scratch paper after each color to avoid mixing colors together. Using the embossing plate to stamp the image onto the inked gel plate. Lift up the inked embossing plate and stamp the image onto the scratch paper. Use the scratch paper to stamp the sentiment and die cut the bottom layer of the butterflies. Adhere to the top and bottom layers of the butterflies together. Adhere the inked background onto black mat and ivory card base; Add bow, butterflies, gems and sentiment as shown.

Embossed Sunflowers: Stamp and heat emboss sunflowers with white embossing powder onto white card stock. Brayer Antique Linen, Tea Dye and Wild Honey distress inks onto gel plate, brayer to slightly blend colors, and use corrugated cardboard to stamp pattern onto gel plate. Place embossed card panel onto gel plate to lift background print. Stamp dots onto card panel with Tea Dye ink, color sunflowers with distress markers and sponge Vintage Photo distress ink on panel's edges. Tape knotted ribbon onto card panel before adhering to kraft card base. Add gold sentiment to finish card.

Special Day Tropical Florals: Use Fossilized Amber, Picked Raspberry and Fired Brick distress oxide spray to add color to gel plate. Place mixed media card panel onto inked gel plate to pick up colors. Let dry before die cutting with the frame die. Use leaves embossing folder to emboss vellum. Assemble die cut flowers and sentiment together onto red card base as shown. Add gold bow to finish.

Thinking of You florals: Brayer Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac and Scattered Stray onto gel plate, place stencil on gel plate and pull the initial print with white card panel. Remove stencil and use the same card panel to pull a second print to add more background color (repeat this step again as necessary). Die cut background panel. Assemble card panel with die cut flowers and twigs onto black mat and card base as shown. Add stamp sentiment to finish card.
