Winter Card Making (2nd Session) - February 15, 2023

Below are the cards we made at our previous class meeting. A preview of the cards for March 1st class meeting is included at the end of this post.

Thank You Stencil Card: Brush Memento inks Dandelion, Rose Bud & Lilac Posies over Hero Arts floral stencil on white card panel to create background. Stamp & punch out sentiment, tie ribbon and assemble over burgundy card base as shown.

Embossed Perfect Pearl Birthday Card: Align masking tape around cream card panel to create borders, apply Fosselized Amber & Abandoned Coral Distress in the center, brush gold Perfect Pearl powder over inked area, peel off masking tape, lightly spritz water over panel to set the Perfect Pearl powder, and dry embossing the panel using the floral embossing folder. Tie gold cord, add gems and sentiment over orange card base as shown.

Sunshine Wishes: Apply coordinated washi tapes over white card panel, stamp & punch out sentiment, tape panel over black mat, tie yellow bakers' twine bow and assemble over yellow card base as shown.

Embossed Alcohol Ink Birthday: Use Epson photo paper & embossing folder to emboss background panel. Spray one color at a time on non-stick mat, spray water onto mat to dilute color, starting w/ lightest color first (yellow, pink & purple). Lay embossed panel onto mat to pick up each color. Dab panel dry and clean mat between each color. Glue embossed panel onto black mat, tie ribbon and adhere to white card base. Add gems & sentiment sticker as shown.

Winter Card Making Class - February 8 and 11, 2023

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a recap of the cards from our last class meeting from the First Winter Card Making Session. I will post another one later this weekend with the new cards we made on Wednesday, our 1st class meeting of the Second Winter Session. Hope it is not too confusing.

Scallop Heart Iris Folding Card

Butterflies Thank You: Create borders with painter tapes around white card panel, sponge Mowed Lawn & Tumbled Glass Distress Ink in the center, brush on Perfect Pearl, remove tapes, lightly mist water to seal in Perfect Pearl, emboss using butterflies embossing folder.

Mother's Day Bouquet: Sponge Enchanted, Envy & Villainous Alcohol Pearls ink over vellum, glue & tape onto card base with Washi Tape, add gold bouquet & sentiment stickers on to card front.

Winter Card Making Class - January 25 and 28, 2023

Hello everyone,

A quick recap of the cards we made previously and a preview of the cards we will making at our next class.

Apply Wild Plum, Watermelon & Sunset Orange alcohol inks all over Yupo paper; Place stencil over inked background, use ink applicator to apply alcohol lift-ink to lift ink off open area of stencil; Place paper towel over to dab off ink; remove stencil and wipe off to reveal floral background; Assemble card with sentiment, ribbon and gem as shown.

Stamp and heat emboss dragonfly onto mulberry paper using gold embossing powder; Dab water around to tear off edges; Add sentiment and assemble card as shown.

Add Chatreuse, Violet & Crimson Red inks onto clear stamp pad; Stamp butterfly all over white card panel; Assemble card together with sentiment, ribbon & gem as shown.

Create pocket slider card using 5 1/2"x8 1/2" card base, score at 1/2" & 4 1/2";  Adhere 3 3/4"x5 1/4" pattern paper to the front panel of card; Cut a 4" slit along the right side at 1" from the edge; Insert a 5/8”x3 1/4" white tab in slit partially; Stamp & cut out 2 butterflies; Using foam tape, adhere one butterfly the exterior of white tab; Stamp sentiment onto a 3 3/4"x5” & adhere to the interior of white tab; Assemble card w. remaining butterfly and ribbon as shown.

Winter Gel Printing Class - February 1, 2023

Hello everyone,

Sadly, yesterday was our last Gel Printing Class for the Winter Session. I hope everyone had fun even though we got messy most of the times. Then again, Gel Printing is all about having fun experimenting with different media and let go of trying to be perfect!😃

Below is a quick recap of the cards we made. Hope to see you back in the Spring Session.

Apply green, blue & purple Memento inks on Gel Plate for background print. Place Butterflies Stencil over print and brush on same inks as background to reveal butterflies. Cut to size and assemble with sentiment and ribbon as shown.

Roll on blue & purple Distress Oxide inks onto Gel Plate, stamp Collage image w/o ink onto inked Gel Plate. Pull print, cut and assemble w/ sentiment & embellish as shown.

Add Color Chalks to Rose Stencil on Gel Plate. Apply thin layer of gold acrylic paint evenly & pull print. Assemble card as shown.

Roll yellow & orange Oxide ink evenly and pull print for background. Apply coral Oxide ink, place stencil over Gel Plate and put background print on top, rub thoroughly to pick stencil pattern and lift print. Cut to size before using embossing folder w heart die. Assemble & embellish card as shown.

Continuing from the previous print, pick up stencil from Gel Plate and place a clean sheet of paper onto plate to pick up pattern left on plate. Cut to size before using embossing folder w heart die. Assemble & embellish card as shown.
