Spring Card Making Class - May 23 and 25, 2022

Hello everyone,

Hope you are doing well.  Believe it or not, next week will be our last class meeting for the Spring Session. How time flies!

Below is a recap of the cards we made last time and a preview of the new cards.

Cattails & Butterflies: Apply alcohol ink in the back of a dry emboss vellum, adhere behind turquoise frame, add die cut cattails, ribbon and embellishments as shown.

Hot Air Balloon: Assemble card by following Iris Folding pattern, starting with the yellow pattern paper for the basket and end with the holographic paper for the center.

Birthday Rose: Using Memento Rose Bud, Lilac Posies, Pear Tart and Bamboo Leaves ink pads to apply ink over 2-step rose stencil on white card panel before embossing birthday & polka dots background. Adhere onto red card base and add embellishments as shown.

Butterflies & Dragonflies Shaker: Dry emboss and lightly sand metallic blue panel with emery board; wrap clear dragonfly vinyl around to form a pocket; add sequins, flowers & butterflies in pocket before sealing it; Adhere shaker pouch behind white embossed panel; tie ribbon and add stamped sentiment before adhering to card base

Spring Card Making Class - May 11 and 16, 2022

Hello everyone,

Hope you are doing well and enjoying the nice weather we have. Below is a recap of the cards we made at our last class meetings. Pictures of the cards we will be making on Monday May 23rd and Wednesday May 25th  are included toward the end of this post.

Strawberry Window Fold - Stamp, color and cut out strawberries & flowers image, stamp and punch out sentiment, adhere pattern paper and bow as shown.

Peach Card - Adhere peach pattern paper onto green card base; adhere green half circle onto white circle; wrap cotton threads and tie a bow around the panel. Finish off by adding flowers and butterfly as shown.

Sea Shells Accordion Fold - Adhere each of the 8 sea shell panels onto white mats; Fold blue strip into "M" shape; Center and adhere 4 sea shell panels onto to the strip and tape the ends inside the card lining up with each end of the card base. Add blue grain Washi tape onto card front; Stamp and punch out sentiment; Adhere two shell panels, sentiment and brads to front as shown.

Fun Stenciling - Tape 1/8" Washi tape onto white card panel at an angle to divide panel into 5 sections;  Mask off to reveal one section at a time; Starting with the lightest color, place stencil on top of the section, brush on ink, remove stencil without remove mask and brush over the section with the same color without inking. Move mask to the next section and use different stencil pattern & ink color (Memento ink: Dandelion, Bamboo Leaves, Danube Blue, Bahama Blue & Grape Jelly). Repeat the same inking process for all 5 sections.

Spring Card Making Class - April 27 & May 9, 2022

Hello ladies,

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. Below is a recap of the cards we made at our last class meetings follow by a preview of the cards we will be making at the next class (Wednesday, May 11 and Monday, May 16). Let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Poppies - Stamp & heat emboss poppies on red card stock, color petals and leaves with color pencils, add sentiment and assemble card as shown.

Flamingo - Follow iris pattern provides to assemble pattern papers in the back of card, glue legs in front and assemble card with sentiment as shown.

Distress Florals - Ink one side of the floral embossing folder with Peel Paint distress ink. Place card stock on un-inked side and run through die cut machine. Let ink dry before sponging Tumble Glass and Wild Honey distress inks on panel. Add ribbon and sentiment to finish card as shown.

Brown Berry Branch - Stamp background with Desert Sand ink & stamp berry branch with Rich Cocoa on ivory card stock. Die cut stamp image and black panel with stitch rectangular dies. Stamp sentiment and assemble card as shown.

Spring Card Making Class - April 11 and 13, 2022

 Hello everyone,

Hope you are doing well. 

Just want to remind everyone that this Monday's class, 4/25/2022, will be postponed until 5/9/2022 due to high school testing at the Rancho Del Mar campus. To make up for this, we will be meeting every Monday from 5/9 to 5/23 with the last class on 6/6/2022. No change to Wednesday's class at Malaga Cove. Please check your email I sent earlier this week for additional details.

Below is a recap of the cards we made at our first class meeting. A preview of the cards we will be making on April 27th and May 9th is also included at the end. Please email me if you have any questions.

Spring Daffodil: Sponge Memento ink on die cut daffodil petals, stem and leave. Assemble card and adhere sticker sentiment and blings as shown.

Hat Fashion: Stamp ladies and sentiment on white card squares, and color hat embellishments. Assemble squares, pattern paper, ribbon as shown.

Pink Hydrangea: 3-step stamping for pink flower blossom and 2-step stamping of green leaves. Assemble card with embellishments as shown.

Tea Set: Using 70% isopropyl alcohol and pink/purple dye reinkers, sponge onto glossy card stock. Stamp tea set with StazOn ink. Assemble card as shown.

Winter Card Making - March 14 and 16, 2022

Hello everyone,

Hope you are out enjoying the nice sunny weather we are having. FYI, the Spring Card Making classes will start on April 11, 2022 at Rancho Del Mar and April 13, 2022 at Malaga Cove.  Below is the link to the PVPUSD's Adult Education website.

Easter Bunny: Stamp on watercolor card stock and color using watercolor pencils and water brush. Adhere layers together as shown.

Birthday Cakes: Stamp image with Espresso Ink, dry emboss with gingham embossing folder and sponge stamped panel with Desert Sand ink. Tie ribbon and adhere layers together as shown.

Butterfly Floral: Sponge Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks on white card stock, and brush on Perfect Pearl. Dry emboss with butterfly floral embossing folder. Assemble card panels together as shown.

Purple Pop Out Birthday: Stamp purple flowers and leaves and sentiment on white card stock. Punch out using scallop circle punch. Assemble pattern paper and card stock together as shown. Connect the belly band in the front and glue behind the sentiment circle.

Winter Card Making - February 28 & March 1, 2022

Embossed Dragonfly - Emboss vellum w. embossing folder, wrap around purple card panel, adhere to black panel and onto beige card base. Glue die cut dragonfly on top, decorate with pearls and ribbon as shown.

Bird House Easel - Stamp background w. light blue ink and stamp bird image w. black ink on top. Adhere panels together as shown.

Green/White Florals & Shamrock - Stamp images randomly w. green ink onto kraft card stock, emboss w. basket weave embossing folder, lightly sponge edges and top with light brown ink, adhere panels together & add bling/sentiment as shown.

Whale Fancy Fold - Adhere color strips following Fancy Folding pattern. Stamp and punch out sentiment and assemble together as shown.

Winter Card Making - February 14 & 15, 2022

Hello everyone,

Below is a recap of the cards we made last time and a sneak peek of the cards for our next class meeting.

Fun Fold Birthday: Adhere pattern papers, white card stock, ribbon and sentiment as shown

Dragonfly Fancy Fold: Adhere folded pattern papers following pattern working from the back of the card.  Finish off with embellishments and sentiment as shown.

Embossed Roses: Stamp and heat emboss floral bouquet with white embossing powder. Lightly brush on Rose Bud Memento ink. Highlight with Prismacolor pencils.

Cherry Fun Fold: Stamp sentiment and cherry on white card, color and assemble cards as shown.
