Below are the cards we made last Monday. Poor Alice is still not well enough to attend class. Hope you feel better soon!
The cherry card was made by punching on all 4 sides of a 3x3 blue card stock, centering each side. The cherry gem from Mary Engelbreit was stuck on a 2" white scallop punch by peeling back part of the acetate backing a little at a time to keep its original shape. The bottom lace trim was done by punching on both side of a 2-1/2 x 4-1/4" white card stock. The ribbon was added to the center to finish off the card.
This black & white card was Lesley's request for an elegant male birthday card. So this is what I came up with. The sailboat was stamped in black ink in center of a white trim card, matted on a black card stock. The sentiment was also stamped in black ink and punched out using an oval punch, matted on punched black tag. The silver cord was folded in half to thread through the small pierce holes on each end. The cord was then cut and spread apart on both ends and taped in back.
This Serviette card was made using some fancy dinner napkins I had. The background was mod podged on white card stock. The top layers, leaf and flower, were mod podged on vellum, cut out, dry embossing and foam taped on top of the background card. The panel was then matted on a dark green card stock with corners punched on opposite ends. The bottom strip was done by gluing some decorative paper on top of dark green card stock and glue at the bottom of the card.
This next card is a teabag folding card using 1-1/2" circle punch and cut in half. You need 6 half circles to make the full flower, 2 half circles to make the half flower and 1 half circle of the single flower. The folds were made following the instruction I provided in class. The stems were the Sizzix die cuts. A sentiment was stamped and punched with a small scallop punch. Everything was then glued together, add a bow and a pearl to finish the card.

Hi,Connie! I've visited your blog after a long interval,and enjoyed seeing many beautiful new designs here. Recently,I bought some floral stamps from Rubber Stamp Tapestry since my friend showed me how to make cards using her mass collection of floral stamps. I still enjoy quilling,too. ReplyDeleteI took Connie's class till 2008,and now I'm in Japan missing her wonderful and happy classes. Connie, I love your choice of colors and combination of paper designs. I have a lace trimming punch,but I've never imagined to coordinate lace trimmed border and ribbon like on the cherry card. I enjoy visiting this blog because I find lots of useful tips on creating beautiful cards.
