January 9, 2012 Card Making Class

Happy New Year everyone!
Now that the holidays are over, we can get back to our therapeutic card making session.  ;o)

Here are the cards we made last Monday.
This easel card base is measured 4-1/4" x 11" and folded in half at 5-1/2".   Fold 2" from the edge of one side of the card and adhere the scallop front panel.  Add pattern paper on top of the scallop front panel.  Place birthday cake sticker to the 2"x2"white panel, layer on top of the 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" yellow  panel and adhere with foam tape on top of pattern paper.  Wrap the sheer ribbon around the 2"x4" white panel, adhere sentiment and mount with foam tape at the bottom of the inside of the card (see side picture below).
The peacock card is made by stamping the image with multi-color ink onto a 2"x2" white panel and mat it with a blue green card stock (2-1/4"x2-1/4").  The pattern paper was also matted with the blue green card stock with an aqua color ribbon tied at the bottom half.  Adhere as shown onto yellow card base.  Add the blue gems at the bottom left.
The heart Iris Folding card is the 3rd and last card using the pale pink, green and lavender pattern paper strips following the iris pattern. The top panel was adhered onto olive green card base and trimming the side with left over gold trims.   Add gold sentiment at the bottom right corner.
We only made 3 cards in this class since I had everyone created their own heart template and cutting out the card aperture for the heart.  I did get some grumbling in the beginning.  However, after their beautiful card was completed, everyone had Carol to thank!

Well that's it for now.  We'll meet again on Chinese New Year Monday January 23, 2012, the year of the Dragon!  Have a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year everyone!
