Hello everyone,
It has been quite a busy week! The week started out as usual and pleasant teaching the first card making class for the Spring Session. However, soon after I got home I found out that my 103 year old grandfather went in the hospital on Friday for a surgery to fix his leg fracture is not recovering as well as we hope. The doctor said that his health is deteriorating and not sure how long he has. So after making a few phone calls and take care of some business at home, I paced a few things for an early drive up to Fresno the next morning. I stayed there a couple of days to visit with my grandfather. Then another long drive back home and catch up with work the next couple of days before a weekend with my son's basketball tournament and my daughter's 5K run. What a week!
Now that I have a little free time, I want to finish this post and get ready for the next class as soon as possible. Don't know when I would need to drive up to see my grandfather again.
So here are the cards we made last Monday. This first card was made with Stampin' Up blossom punch with double sided yellow and green pattern papers. Using the yellow pattern paper, punch out 4 large petals for the large flowers, 2 little smallest petals for the flower buds. Sponge all petals' edges with yellow ink. The flowers were made by rolling the side toward the center and add foam tape in the center to secure. Same was done for the flower buds. The leaves were made by punching the longest petal(leave) on the petal punch and sponge edges with green ink. Assemble the pieces in place as shown using liquid glue onto die cut ivory card stock before adhering onto die cut green card stock. Tie a bow with yellow grosgrain ribbon before adding to ivory card base. Add sticker sentiment to finish card.
This stained glass card was made by stamping image with black ink on white card stock and colored with Prismacolor pencils. Peel one side of the double-sided sticky sheet and adhere onto the colored image. Trim around the edge of the image before peeling off the remaining side of the double-sided sticky sheet. Peel off sticky sheet and pour tiny glass beads on top; rub in the beads to smooth out. Adhere the panel onto a slightly larger white card stock and black card stock for mat as shown. Adhere the entire panel onto yellow card base. Punch out white circle and black scallop circle. Glue together and add sticker sentiment. Adhere to top of card with foam tape. Tie on black and white checker ribbon to finish card. So here are the cards we made last Monday. This music note card was made by stamping image on white card stock with black ink. Mat with black card stock and set aside. Glue music paper onto black card stock. Tie a simple knot toward one side of sheer ribbon, wrap around music panel, tape ribbon on the back of the panel and adhere onto white card base. Adhere stamped image onto card with foam tape to finish the card.
This waterfall card was made by adding 4 different image stickers onto 1-3/4"x 1-3/4" white squares. Mat each white square with 2"x 2" pink square. The long pink pulley strip is 2"x 9"; score at 2", 2-3/4", 3-1/2" and 4-1/4". Fold all score lines in the same direction. Tape each square panel onto the long strip at each score line by adding a thin tape strip only near each score line. Glue floral paper onto pink card stock. Add a little glue at each end of the 1" pink strip and tape onto the floral paper panel vertically as shown. Punch hole at each end with a 1/8" hole punch. Add white brads and tape floral panel onto white card base. Slide one end of the 2"x 9" pink strip under the vertical pink strip and tape the other end to the top of the verical strip. Punch out a white label punch, fold in half and glue to the end of the long pink strip for pull handle. Hope that make sense!
That's it for now. I promised to have easy cards next class since everyone didn't finish all their cards. I'll try to be there at least 15 minutes early so you can finish your cards from last class. Have a great week and see you on Monday!
