January 7, 2013 Card Making Class

Happy New Year everyone!

Hope you had a great holiday season, doing well health wise and stay warm!

Below are the four cards we made during our first class.  This lattice top card panel was made by using the Cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the texture and rub top slightly with brown ink.  Punch vine using Martha Stewart punch with green card stock.  Glue store bought paper flowers and pearls.  Add brown ribbon at the bottom and tie a knot.  Tape onto to card base.  Stamp sentiment with brown ink and punch out with Fiskar scallop punch.  Sponge edges with brown ink and adhere with foam tape as shown.  Add pearl to flower to finish off.
This butterfly card was inspired by Darlene Design's card.  Die cut the black paper with Spellbinder die.  Draw stitch marks with white gel pen around the shape.  Let dry.  Adhere die cut butterflies with glue dots in the center fold as shown.  Add silver sticker sentiment to finish.
This next card is an Iris Folding card.  The heart was cut out using the Spellbinder scallop heart die.  Following the Iris Folding heart pattern, the 3 black and white pattern papers were layered onto to the card.  Finish off the center with a red holographic paper.  Tape the read heart panel onto black mat and then tape onto white card base.  Add gold stickers and bow as shown to finish card.
This next card was made by first punch out 3 shapes on each side using this special punch that I bought a few year ago.  It has slots that can be used to weave the ribbons through.  Tape the ribbon ends on the back of the blue panel and tape the panel onto black mat.  Add the white and black strips in center as shown.  Add silver sentiment and flower with red bling.  Tape everything onto white card base to finish.
That's it for now.  Next class meeting will be on February 4th.  No class next week due to Martin Luther King's holiday.  Have a great week and see you all next month!  We all missed you Carol!
