September 30, 2013 Card Making Class

Hello ladies,
Hope you had a great week and enjoying your weekend.  Below are the cards we made this past Monday.

This flower card was made using brush tip of Tim Holtz distress markers to apply colors onto an acrylic block, spritz some water, and then stamp the acrylic block onto some watercolor paper to transfer the ink.  Use a water brush to blend the ink on the watercolor paper.  Let dry before stamping the flower onto card with black ink.  Adhere the watercolor panel onto black card panel and tie ribbon around the bottom.  Adhere the panel onto card base as shown.  Stamp sentiment on white card stock and punch out using Stampin' Up label punch.  Punch out another label punch using black card stock, cut in half lengthwise, trim ends and glue to the back of the white label.  Adhere as shown to finish.
This next card was made using the quilling technique.  Using orange, red and brown 1/8" quilling papers to make the leaves and stems and glue in place as shown.  Sponge edges of white card panel with orange ink and tie brown ribbon at the bottom as shown.  Adhere onto embossed pattern card stock and adhere everything onto white card base.  Add sticker sentiment to finish card.
This pirate card is a pop-up card.  I will try to explain, but it may not make much sense unless you actually do it.  The outside black card is measured 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" and the inside gray card is measured 3-3/4" x 5".   Adhere pattern paper onto front as shown.  The images were rubbed onto white card stock and trimmed leaving about 1/16" borders around.   Adhere images as shown.  Some images are rubbed directly onto card.
Fold the inside gray card in half and measure and mark the folded edge at 1-1/4", 1-3/4", 2-3/4" & 3-1/4".  Cut about 3/4" deep at the first two marks (1-1/4" & 1-3/4") and about 1" deep at the second set of marks (2-3/4" & 3-1/4").  Push out the tabs, fold and adhere the gray card inside of black card base.
This last card was a simple one since the quilling took everyone some time to finish.  It was made using cupcakes and candles stickers onto white card panel.  Punch out 3 different cupcakes using glitter papers and adhere onto card with foam tapes as shown.  Adhere the white panel onto kraft card base to finish.
Well, that's it for now.  Have a great week and see you on the 14th.
