May 12, 2014 Card Making Class

Hello ladies,

Hope everyone is having a great Summer!  It's a busy Summer for us.  We're helping our son get ready for college buying all the stuff for his college stay.  At least he got a part-time job for the Summer!  Can't believe how fast time flies!

Sorry for a really late post.  I had to look up the date of our last class!  I thought I already post it until I saw the cards on my camera and realized I didn't.  Anyway, here they are.
This apple iris folding card is pretty much self-explanatory.  Cover up the leaves first with green velvet paper, the alternate the 2 yellow design papers following the iris pattern, tie the yellow ribbon around before adhering the panel onto a green mat and then onto a white card base.  Add sticker sentiment to finish.
This next card was made by first stamping the background watch stamp onto an ivory panel and sponge edges with brown ink.  Adhere panel onto brown card base.  Then stamp the stop watch and sentiment on the square and rectangle ivory panels with black ink and sponge edges with brown ink.  Adhere panels onto dark brown mat panels before adhering them to card base as shown.
This petite roses card was inspire by a card that my previous student, Kaori, gave me.  First stamp on of the roses stamp with pink ink and stamp the second rose with red ink on top as shown.  Then stamp leaves around the roses as shown.  Punch out the border on both top and bottom edges.  Tie a pink ribbon around panel and adhere to olive green card base. Punch out a white oval and a pink scallop oval; glue them together and add gold sentiment sticker before adhering to card as shown.
This next card was made by using an embossed folder with a white card panel and running it through the Sizzix machine.  Then apply ink color lightly with a sponge as shown.  Adhere the panels onto card with foam tape as shown.  Finish off with a small green bow and sentiment sticker.
That's all for now.  Here are the dates for the Fall Session:  9/29, 10/13, 10/27, 11/10, 11/24 & 12/8.  Six (6) Mondays from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Rancho Del Mar ($5 per class meeting for materials fee).  Hope you can all join in on the fun.  As usual email me if you have questions or requests.  Have a great and safe Summer!
