Winter 2024 - Gel Press Monoprinting on January 10, 2024

Happy New Year everyone!

Hope 2024 brings you good health, luck and prosperity.

The Winter 2024 Session started last Wednesday with our Gel Printing Class.

Below is a quick recap of the cards we made in class.

Perfect Pearl Love: Place heart stencil onto gel plate, brush on blush, red, pink and purple Perfect Pearl powders through heart openings. Clean off any excess powder and lift stencil off gel plate. Brayer a thin layer of iridescent white acrylic paint, place a white piece of paper over, rub evenly and lift print. Die cut shape and assemble card with black mat and ribbon on white card base as shown.

3D Emboss Roses: Emboss white card panel with Alternew 3D rose embossing folder. Brayer red and purple metallic acrylic paints evenly on gel plate. Place embossed panel onto gel plate and rub lightly all over to lift print and pick up colors on embossed panel. Place a clean sheet of white paper over the image left behind from previous to get a second print. If desired, brayer remaining paints from roller (or add more paints) to add more color to the embossed panel. Add ribbon, sentiment and gems to finish card as shown.

Jumbo Thank You: Brayer beige acrylic paint over gel plate and lift the 1st background layer onto white paper. Brayer bronze metallic acrylic paint over gel plate, add some faux fur yarns on top. Place the 1st beige background on top to pick up the 2nd color background. Remove the yarn one at a time and place the paper back down to pick up the texture left behind on the gel plate. Die cut and stamp image and sentiment to finish card as shown.

Wild Birthday: This card was made using the same background made from the previous card above, but with different stamped image and sentiment.
