Other cards I've made recently

Hello everyone,
It was nice to have a few days off and stay home with the kids.  Also, I finally got some time to clean house.  Not something I look forward to, but it had to be done.  I had to let my previous cleaning lady go because my hubby think she caused more damage than good.  So, I'm still trying to make do by doing most of my cleaning myself with my kids helping out once in a while until I can find a reliable and wonderful person.  Does anyone have such a person in mind to share? ;o)
Anyway, that's enough of my mumbling.  On to the cards...  I had an order for 10 Valentine cards and I made a few more New Year cards for Chinese New Year to send to my families.  Enjoy!  Let me know if you have questions.

February 7, 2011 Card Making Class

Hi everyone,
I can't believe almost 2 weeks went by and I find myself catching up with my blog again.  It's a good thing we have a holiday Monday and I get to take a break!  Anyway, here are the cards we made in our last class.

This pinwheel card idea came from Dawn Stampin' Studio online site.  I modify a bit to fit the punch size I have.  The pinwheel was made from punching 4 - 1" squares from each pattern papers.  They were then glued together in alternating pattern on top of two red squares that form the background shape.  The button in the center covers up any gaps in the middle.
This teapot card was made with the silver Starform sticker and the roses were colored in with Prisma color pencils in the center.  The center white and burgundy pieces were cutouts from the Nestibilities dies.
This teacup card was made the same way as the previous teapot card.  Different Nestibilities dies were used for the center pieces.  The "Happy Anniversary" sentiment was stamped with black ink on white card stock and punched out and sponge with purple ink on the edges.
This "Serviette Card" was made by ironing on a piece of dinner napkin on top of mod-podged card stock and vellum.  The vellum piece was cut out with only the shovel and the watering can, embossed slightly on the back and glued on with foam dots on top of the card stock background.  The blue edge was punch with border punch and glued behind the image background piece.  The sentiment was stamped in light blue ink and punched out with large scallop punch with sponge edge.
Everyone in class love this card because it was so easy.  This also came from an online idea I saw.  I cut out the purse with a Nestibilities die and fold down 1/3 from the top to resemble a purse.  The handle was made with 1 strip of rose ribbon taped behind and a rose bow adorned the purse front.  The sentiment was stamped with rose ink and punched out with a small scallop punch.  The edges was sponged with rose ink and pop up with foam dot.
That's it for now.  Our next class will be on March 7, 2011 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Have a great weekend and holiday!
