November 26, 2012 Card Making Class

Hello again,

I finally got around to photograph the cards we made from our last class and here they are.
This first card was made by cutting a 3"- 4" circle in half.  Accordion fold each half circle to make trees.  Freehand cut tree trunks out of brown card stock.  The white background card stock was embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder.  Glue trees as shown.  Punch out label using Stampin' Up designer label punch twice, one of each out of white and red card stocks.  Cut the red card label in half length wise and glue to back of the white label.  Add gold sticker sentiment and tape to the front with foam tape.  Add gold stars to tree tops and gold border trims on each side of card as shown.
This next card was made by cutting a 12 x 5-1/2" lavender card stock and scored at 4" and 8".  Fold the first 2 panels together and cut out the opening using the Spellbinder Blossom die.  Open up the 2 panels that had the cut outs, glue thin strips of lavender card stock as shown on the inside center panel.  Once complete, glue or tape the 2 panels with the cut outs together to hide the glue area.  Add a small blossom die cut to the center of the cut out, decorate with flowers, leaves and pearls.  Punch out a designer label using white card stock.  Shade the edges with purple ink as shown.  Add silver sticker sentiment to finish the card.
This Tiger lilies card was made using a McGill lily punch with orange and green card stock.  Color the center with orange marker and add brown dots as shown.  Punch stamens out of lime green and color the outside with brown marker.  Use a large ball tool to emboss/shape each petal and set aside.  Punch the brown and orange card stocks using Fiskar border punch.  Tie olive green ribbon and adhere the panels onto white card base as shown.  Add sticker sentiment at the bottom.
This next card has two parts..  The front card was made by punching the gift border with Martha Stewart border punch out of pattern paper and glue to the bottom.  Add Snoopy sticker on white round scallop, add silver sentiment sticker on white oval scallop and finish off with 3 dots using a regular hole punch.
The inside pop-up was made by folding the white card in half, place marks at 1", 1-1/2", 2-1/2", 3", 4" & 4-1/2".  Cut at each of these marks about 1" deep.  Fold card by pushing out the 1/2" cut strips for the pop-ups.  Stamp balloons on top of white card as shown and color with markers or color pencils.  I did the paper piecing method which took more time.  Adhere Charlie Brown and gangs on red card stock and cut out to give them some support before gluing them onto the pop-up strips as shown.  Punch out a blue gift border using the same Martha Stewart punch and adhere to the bottom of the white card.  Fold the white card inside and glue to the blue front together.
That's it for now.  I know a few ladies did not finish all the cards.  So I be there about 10 min. early for anyone who wants to catch up.  We also agree on a little potluck party where everyone will bring a little something to share.  Since this is the last class before the winter break, we will make only 3 cards.  So everyone can finish and still have time to enjoy the goodies that everyone will bring.  See you on Monday Dec.10.  Have a great weekend!

October 29, 2012 Greeting Card Making Class

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Sorry for not posting earlier.  I was taking a break since we didn't have class last week.  Looks like I took a little too long a break.  Below are the cards we made almost a month ago!

This first Thanksgiving card was made by punching a bunch of these leaves out of yellow, gold, orange and green card stocks using Martha Stewart punch.  Glue them around a circle to resemble a wreath.  Add brown blings sparingly.  Stamp 'Happy Turkey Day' with green ink and punch out using Martha Steward scallop circle punch.  Adhere leaves pattern paper on the side and add ribbon as shown to finish.

The birthday card below was made by stamping Happy Birthday balloons on white card panel, color with markers as shown.  Adhere onto pink card panel and rose card base as shown.  Tie bow and adhere with glue dot to finish.
This wedding card was made by adhering the silver couple and sentiment stickers onto white card panel and adhere onto blue card panel.  Punch border on the larger blue card panel using Fiskars border punch and adhere blue pattern paper as shown.  Tie white sheer ribbon around the panel into a knot and adhere onto white card base. Add the sticker panel on top as shown to finish card.
This Christmas card was made by adhering the pattern paper onto white card panel and wrap plaid ribbon around the bottom of white panel.  Adhere panel onto red card base.  Add candy cane onto center of card and add red blings at 4 corners.  Stamp greeting sentiment on white card stock and punch out using Fiskars scallop oval punch.  Adhere onto top of ribbon using foam tape to finish card.
That's it for now.  Our next class is this coming Monday!  Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend after the Thanksgiving feast!  See you all on Monday!

October 15, 2012 Card Making Class

Hello ladies,

Hope your week is going well so far!  Mine has been busy as usual. Below are the cards from last Monday's class.

This first card used a technique called paper piecing.  The cake was stamped on the white card panel with black ink and then again on a pink and lavender card stock.  Cut out the poka dots portion of the cake from the pink card stock and the stripe portion from the lavender card stock.  Adhere the cut outs onto the stamped cake of the white panel.  Mat it on a pink panel and set aside.  Wrap the pink poka dots ribbon around the black poka dots panel and adhere to the white card base.  Adhere the previously assembled cake panel onto the black poka dots panel as shown with foam tape.  Color the candles with pink and lavender markers and the flame with gold gel pen.  Stamp sentiment on white card stock and punch out shape using the Stampin' Up designer label punch.  Punch another one out of pink card stock, cut in half length wise and glue behind the white sentiment.  Adhere to card with foam tape.  Add the pink gems as shown.
This Santa Owl card was inspired by Darlene using the Stampin' Up Owl punch that I borrowed from my friend Ana.  Finally made a card with it Ana! ;o)
Start the card by gluing the snowflake pattern paper onto the card base for background.  Draw the snow bank, cover edge with glue and add glitter on the glue edge.  Punch out the owl body with brown card stock, the belly with red card stock and again with back card stock.  Trim the black punched shape to make the belt and draw the belt buckle with white gel pen.  Punch the eyes out of beige, white and black card stocks as shown.  The Santa hat was cut free hand and the white areas was added using white liquid applique.  I used white embossing powder in the sample because I left my white liquid applique in the classroom closet.  Stamp sentiment on white card stock and punch shape with designer label punch.  Add clear blings (or diamonds as some of the ladies in class called them) and adhere with foam tape.
This dragonfly card was made by punching out 3 dragonflies using Fiskars punch and lavender card stock.  Adhere the dragonfly washi paper onto gold panel.  Wrap gold ribbon around and tie a simple knot.  Adhere the panel onto ivory card base as shown and adhere the dragonflies with glue dots as shown.  Add gold sticker sentiment to finish the card.
This hot air balloon card was made by stamping the balloon on pattern paper.  I know... it's so light; you can barely see the patterns, but it's there.  Cut out the shape and adhere to the cloud background paper.  Pop up the center balloon with foam tape.  Round the corners of the cloud background paper before adhering to the white card base.  Add silver sticker sentiment to the light green banner strip and pop up the center with foam tape and glue down the 2 ends to give some dimensions.
That's it for now.  Have a good week and see you next Monday October 29, 2012.  Is everyone ready for Halloween?

October 1, 2012 Greeting Card Making Class

Hello everyone,

Here's an update of the cards we made in our last class.  This first card was inspired by a card made by Dawn Olchefske's blog at Dostamping with Dawn. The card was made with all Kraft color card stocks.  The background layer was embossed with Cuttlebug embossing folder and sponged with brown ink.  Stamp pine needles and pine cones on the opposite corners of the smallest Kraft panel and sponged edges as shown.  Adhere to another panel about 1/4 inch larger before adhering to the embossed background with foam tape.  Adhere everything to the card base and add sentiments sticker as shown.
This pansies card was made using Starform pansies sticker on watercolor paper and Twinklin' H2O watercolors.  Add silver sticker trims and corners as shown.  Punch scallop borders on the purple pattern paper using Fiskar border punch and adhere everything on white card base as shown.
The light blue panel of this mitten card was made using the Sizzix original die.  The mittens' outline was traced onto the black panel.  Ribbons were taped as shown directly onto the black card stock except for the mitten cuffs which was done by taping the ribbons onto the back of the light blue die cut panel.  Turn the light blue die cut panel back with the right side on top and tape it down to the black card panel where the rest of ribbons were taped down.  Adhere the assembled panels onto a blue card base.  Add silver snowflake border and sentiment sticker to front to finish the card as shown.
I goofed on this next card.  I forgot to bring the train stamp to class.  So everyone made a floral card instead because that was the stampI found in my supply cabinet at school that would fit the white card panel that I had cut out.  Actually, the card that everyone made looked better than this train card.  The ladies were able to color the flowers with markers that made it more colorful.  Oh well, it was a hot day and not such a good day to make a masculine card I suppose.  Not my best to say the least!
Anyway, have a good week everyone and see you next Monday October 15, 2012 at 11:30 a.m.   As always, leave a comment and let me know what you think.

September 17, 2012 Fall Session Handmade Greeting Card Making Class Starts

Hello ladies,

It was great to see all the familiar faces as well as a couple of newcomers at our first Fall class.  Wow, eleven pupils signed up!  Welcome back everyone!

Below are the cards we made in class in case someone needs to reference to them to add the finished touches.
This first cupcake card was done by gluing the pink and green striped pattern paper onto the bottom of a white card base.  The cupcake was done by crimping the pink card stock for the bottom of the cupcake and glue to the felt chocolate felt cake.  The cupcake was then glued to the green die cut shape and taped onto the left of the card base.  Green blings and gold sticker sentiment were added as shown to finish the card.
This pumpkin card below was made by stamping the pumpkins onto red, orange and yellow card stocks and cut out.  The green ribbons were tied into simple knots and glued to the front of the pumpkins with glue dots.  Use white gel pen to draw dash lines around the green panel and glue to ivory card base.  Glue the orange pumpkin directly onto green card panel, and then add the yellow and red pumpkins to card as shown with foam tape.  Stamp sentiment with olive green ink onto ivory card stock and punch out shape.  Punch out a second shape with green card stock, cut in half and adhere to the back to frame the ivory punch shape.
The fall leaves card  below was made by adding gold leaf stickers randomly onto gold leaves pattern paper, glued on top of burgundy card stock, and glued onto white card base.  The gold sticker sentiment was placed onto a punched 1-3/8 inch circle out of gold leaves pattern paper and glued onto a punched scallop circle out of burgundy card stock.  Foam tape was used to tape the scallop sentiment to the bottom right of card.  Three orange beads were added to the top right corner to finish the card.
The Halloween card below was made by gluing pattern papers onto card base as shown.  The purple Happy Halloween ribbon was taped to cover the seam.  The die cut moon and cat was glued onto card as shown.
I guess these cards were too simple.  Everyone finished early!  I usually keep the first class meeting simple since I can never be sure how many people will actually show up.  Don't worry, I will make it up at our next class.  Have a good week everyone.  See you at our next class meeting on October 1st!

May 14, 2012 - Card Making Class

Hello ladies,

This post is for our last class meeting for the Spring Session since next Monday is Memorial Day.  The Fall Session will start again in September.  I will post my schedule as soon as I have it.  Below are the 3 cards we made in class.

The first card is a flip open card measured 4-1/4" x 11", scored (folded) at 2-3/4" from both ends to meet in the center.  The top half of the green scallop frame is attached to the top side of yellow card base with foam tape while the bottom half of the inner white oval is attached to the bottom side of the yellow card base.  Adhere the floral swag sticker in the center of the oval and sponge edges with yellow chalk ink.  Adhere the yellow bow sticker onto the top of the green scallop frame as shown.  Add sticker sentiment on the inside and tie an olive green sheer ribbon on top to finish card.

The Father's Day card below was made by first fold the origami Hawaiian shirt following the shirt pattern I gave out in class.  The folded shirt was adhered to the white die cut card and sponged with blue ink along the edges of the white die cut and the light blue card base.  Add the strip of blue pattern paper at the bottom of the card.  Stamp sentiment with blue ink on white card stock, punch out with EK Success label punch, sponge edges and adhere with foam tape to finish card.
This last card was made by first adhering 3 light blue panels onto a white panel.  Wrap the vellum strip around the assembled panel and tape onto light blue card.  Add sea shell stickers onto vellum as shown.  Add sentiment sticker at the bottom to finish card.
That's it for now.  I know Ellen, Carol and Barbara missed the last class. I have your class materials with me and will bring them to the next class unless I hear from you otherwise (Lesley has Ellen's materials).  Have a Great Summer!  Email me if you have any questions or if you miss me! ;o)

April 30, 2012 Card Making Class

Hello ladies,

Sorry for the late post.  My Grandfather passed away last Wednesday and the funeral service was held in Fresno last weekend.  So I was very tired after a long drive up and down to/from Fresno, but it was nice spending some time with families though.  Of course when I got back in town, I was off running around catching up with work and chores at home!

This Mother's Day card was made by sponging the edges of a beige card base with brown ink.  The scallop trim edges were taped in layers at the bottom half of card as shown.  The leaves were punched out using Martha Stewart's punch.  The leaves were then glued down a brown ink sponged white die cut panel before placing basket sticker on top.  The store bought flowers were glued down with small pearl added to the flower center.  A ribbon bow was also glued onto the basket with glue dot.  The panel was taped on with foam tape.  The sticker sentiment was added onto a punched out white card stock with brown sponged edges.

I started out making this anniversary card with a white card base.  However, when I started to gather the materials to put the kits for the class, I realized that I had a package of ivory cards and envelopes instead of white.  When I put them against the flowers and pattern vellum, it actually looked better than the white card base that I had made.  So that's what everyone in the class ended up using with gold ink instead of silver.  Thin double-sided tapes were added on the left and right edges of the pattern vellum paper to adhere to the ivory card base.  Six green leaves were punched out with the same Martha Stewart's punch as previous card along with five ivory flowers (wedding confetti flowers) glued down on each side of the vellum to hide the tape.  Stamp sentiment with gold ink on ivory card stock, punched out and edged with gold ink to finish edges.  Add ivory lace ribbon and tie in center with a simple knot.

This cute turtle card was made by sponging a beige card base with brown ink.  The turtle was die cut from the Cuttle Bug die and assembled together by me before class along with the die cut scallop circle.  The scallop circle was also sponged with brown ink before taping the turtle on with foam tape.  The green leaves pattern paper was glued onto the green card stock panel.  Add a strip of double-sided tape across the center before adding the clear mesh on top.  Wrap the ribbon around in the center of the green panel on top of where the tape was placed and tape the entire assembly down to the card base with double-sided tape.  Add the scallop circle with the turtle on top with foam tape.  Stamp sentiment on beige card stock with brown ink and punch out with Fiskar small scallop circle punch.  Sponge edges with brown ink and adhere to card with foam tape.  Faux silver brads were taped on each of the four corners to finish the card.

This butterfly card was made by taping white embossed poka dots card stock onto dark blue card base.  Punch blue and white card stock panels with Martha Stewart scallop border punch. Glue together to leave an 1/8" edge on top and bottom of blue card panel.  Punch butterflies out of 4 shades of blue card stocks using butterfly punch (EK Success punch?).  Stamp sentiment on white card stock with blue ink and punch out with 1" circle EK Success punch.  Punch out scallop from blue card stock using Fiskar small scallop circle punch.  Adhere together and add to card with foam tape.  Wrap sheer blue ribbon on top edge of card and tie with a simple knot to finish.

Well, that's it for now.  Time for me to get ready for our class on Monday which is the last class for the Spring Session.  We will then be on Summer break and the Fall session will begin in September.  I should be able to post the Fall schedule when I post the cards from this Monday's class.   Until then, enjoy!

April 16, 2012 Card Making Class

Hello everyone,

It has been quite a busy week!  The week started out as usual and pleasant teaching the first card making class for the Spring Session.  However, soon after I got home I found out that my 103 year old grandfather went in the hospital on Friday for a surgery to fix his leg fracture is not recovering as well as we hope.  The doctor said that his health is deteriorating and not sure how long he has.  So after making a few phone calls and take care of some business at home, I paced a few things for an early drive up to Fresno the next morning. I stayed there a couple of days to visit with my grandfather.  Then another long drive back home and catch up with work the next couple of days before a weekend with my son's basketball tournament and my daughter's 5K run.  What a week!

Now that I have a little free time, I want to finish this post and get ready for the next class as soon as possible.  Don't know when I would need to drive up to see my grandfather again.

So here are the cards we made last Monday.  This first card was made with Stampin' Up blossom punch with double sided yellow and green pattern papers. Using the yellow pattern paper, punch out 4 large petals for the large flowers, 2 little smallest petals for the flower buds.  Sponge all petals' edges with yellow ink. The flowers were made by rolling the side toward the center and add foam tape in the center to secure.  Same was done for the flower buds.  The leaves were made by punching the longest petal(leave) on the petal punch and sponge edges with green ink.  Assemble the pieces in place as shown using liquid glue onto die cut ivory card stock before adhering onto die cut green card stock.  Tie a bow with yellow grosgrain ribbon before adding to ivory card base.  Add sticker sentiment to finish card.
This stained glass card was made by stamping image with black ink on white card stock and  colored with Prismacolor pencils.  Peel one side of the double-sided sticky sheet and adhere onto the colored image.  Trim around the edge of the image before peeling off the remaining side of the double-sided sticky sheet. Peel off sticky sheet and pour tiny glass beads on top; rub in the beads to smooth out.  Adhere the panel onto a slightly larger white card stock and black card stock for mat as shown.  Adhere the entire panel onto yellow card base.  Punch out white circle and black scallop circle.  Glue together and add sticker sentiment.  Adhere to top of card with foam tape.  Tie on black and white checker ribbon to finish card.
This music note card was made by stamping image on white card stock with black ink.  Mat with black card stock and set aside.  Glue music paper onto black card stock.  Tie a simple knot toward one side of sheer ribbon, wrap around music panel, tape ribbon on the back of the panel and adhere onto white card base.  Adhere stamped image onto card with foam tape to finish the card.
This waterfall card was made by adding 4 different image stickers onto 1-3/4"x 1-3/4" white squares.  Mat each white square with 2"x 2" pink square.  The long pink pulley strip is 2"x 9"; score at 2", 2-3/4", 3-1/2" and 4-1/4".  Fold all score lines in the same direction.  Tape each square panel onto the long strip at each score line by adding a thin tape strip only near each score line.  Glue floral paper onto pink card stock.  Add a little glue at each end of the 1" pink strip and tape onto the floral paper panel vertically as shown.  Punch hole at each end with a 1/8" hole punch.  Add white brads and tape floral panel onto white card base.  Slide one end of the 2"x 9" pink strip under the vertical pink strip and tape the other end to the top of the verical strip.  Punch out a white label punch, fold in half and glue to the end of the long pink strip for pull handle.  Hope that make sense!

That's it for now.  I promised to have easy cards next class since everyone didn't finish all their cards.  I'll try to be there at least 15 minutes early so you can finish your cards from last class.  Have a great week and see you on Monday!

March 19, 2012 - Last Winter 2012 Greeting Card Making Class

Hello ladies,

Can't believe another session is already over!  The new Spring Session catalog should have been mailed out or posted online.   It's a short session, only 3 class meetings due to Memorial Day, starting Monday April 16, follows by April 30 and May 14.  So if you haven't signed up yet, you still have plenty of time.  Although it's always helpful to know ahead of time how many students I need to prepare the materials for.

Anyway, here are the cards from our last class.  This blue & white birthday card was made using the blue & white rose sticker placed on a scallop die cuts from Spellbinder.   The blue & white floral pattern paper was glued to the front of a blue card base.   The white scallop was then adhered on top with foam tape.  A strip of lace was taped on to the bottom front.  The silver sticker sentiment was added onto a white banner strip and popped up with foam tape only in the middle to give the curve illusion.  Finished with some blings on each end.
This next card is a frame card using a 4"x 4" double-sided card stock folding toward the center on all 4 corners and folding them back.  Add sentiment sticker in the center, tape down each side and finish with butterfly gems as shown.  Adhere a border punched strip with sheer white knotted ribbon to the top of a white card base before adhering the frame on top to finish the card.
This peach rose card was made by adhering a gold peel-off rose sticker onto ivory card stock and painted with Twinkling H2O watercolors.  A die cut light orange frame, using Spellbinder die, was adhered on top with foam tape to frame the rose before taping onto an ivory card base.  Gold sticker sentiment and a large bow were added to finish the card.
This pop-up candle card was made using the Sizzix candles die cuts out of striped card stock.  The single large candle was adhered with foam tape on to the front of the card after tying a strip of ribbon toward the lower part of the candle.  Silver sticker sentiment was also added.
Below is the inside of the candle card.  The  inside card was made with a 4" x 8" piece of blue card stock, folded in half.  The pop-up portion was made by cutting 1/2" wide x 1" long strip in the center and two 1/4" wide x 1/2" long on each side of the center strip about 1/2" apart.  Fold the inside card by pushing the cut strips forward to create the pop-ups.  A large candle was taped to the center strip and the smaller candles were adhered to the shorter strips.  Confetti stickers were added throughout for the festive look.  Put the interior card (with the candles folded down) inside the exterior card by taping one side at a time to assemble the card together.
I realize it sounds more difficult to follow my descriptions than to actually see it made.  I guess that's why you take the class! ;o)  Anyway, enjoy the rest of the week and have a great weekend.  Sorry we didn't have a chance to make an Easter card.  Happy Easter everyone!

March 5, 2012 Card Making Class

Hello everyone,

I can't believe two weeks went by before I can get used to the time change.  What a hectic week!  Sorry I didn't get to update my post earlier.  Well here are the cards we made 2 weeks ago.  I will try to list the supplies used for each card within each brief description as requested.

This peacock card is made with a Hero Arts peacock stamp using Versamark clear embossing ink on white card stock.  The Cloisonne (green & gold mix) embossing powder was added to cover the entire stamped image.  Heat emboss with an embossing tool (heat gun).  Adhere the embossed image onto gold card stock and adhere on top of diamond card front.  Finish off with a gold sheer ribbon tied along the fold.
This yummy cupcakes card was made using the EK Success cupcake punch and 1" circle punch.  The cupcake bottoms were punched out of poka dots brown card stock.  The tops were punched out of blue, pink and green card stock to match the colors of the card base.   The cupcakes were adhered with foam tape on punched 1" white circles.  The edge of a brown w/ multicolor poka dots strip was created using the Fiskar border punch and adhere on the bottom half of the card.  The white scallop circle was also punched with a Fiskar scallop circle punch.  Add silver sentiment sticker to finish the card.
This iris folding yellow crocus flower was created using 4 different yellow pattern papers.  Two yellow patterns (yellow poka dots & yellow checker) were used for the bulb portion in alternate fashion.  The solid yellow paper strip was used for the top outside petals of the bloom and a tiny yellow flower pattern paper was used for the center of the bulb and the bloom.  The floral decorative corners were punched with EK Success corner punch. The Iris Crocus card was adhered on top of an olive green pattern paper before adhering to the card base.
It wouldn't be Spring without doing a St. Patrick's card.  Mainly because I love corned beef and cabbage, and it's also my nephew's birthday and (guess what?) his name is Patrick. ;o)  The message was stamped using Hunter Green Memories ink on white card stock, mat with dark green card stock.  The Shamrock paper was also matted with dark green card stock.  Add a gold strip of ribbon on the bottom and 3 green gems on the right hand side.  Hope Patrick likes his birthday card!
That's all for now.  Monday March 19, 2012 will be our last class meeting for the Winter Session.  The Spring Session will begin after Spring break on April 16, 2012 with only 3 class meetings ( 4/16, 4/30 & 5/14) due to Memorial Holiday in May.  HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

February 6, 2012 Card Making Class

Hello again,

Wow, I'm actually not late this time.  Mainly because I wanted to take a picture of all the cards I made before I sell them off for the Valentine order and for the Lemon & Sugar gifts shop.  Hence, I took pictures of the cards we made in class at the same time while I have everything set up for the camera.

This roses card was made using cocktail napkins and Mod Podge.  The napkin needs to be separated so the white layers are removed and only the top layer with the design is used to decoupage (glue) on card stock and vellum.   After applying the Mod Podge on white card stock and vellum pieces, they are left to dry for a few minutes.  While waiting, the green swirls pattern paper was trimmed with decorative scissors and glue onto the left side of the card front.  Once the Mod Podge pieces were dried, the white card stock was ironed onto the back of larger square image background.  The smaller image of just the roses/buds were ironed onto the vellum piece.  Make sure the glue side is on the wrong (back) side of the napkins.  After cutting out the center portions of the roses from the vellum piece, leaving out some of the outside petals, the piece was dry embossed on the back using embossing tool to give some dimensions.  The vellum piece is popped-up with foam tape and placed on top of the background piece.  Mat the image with dark green card stock and place onto card front as shown.  Finish off with sheer ribbon tied into a simple knot.
This ballerina card was made using the Starform bustier sticker placed on bright pink pattern paper and trim around the outline.  The skirt was made with a pink silk flower folded in half and using glue dots to tape the halves together and to glue to the bustier.  The entire dress was taped down onto scallop oval die cut with foam tape.  The whole thing was taped onto pink and red pattern paper on top of pink poka dots card front.
The Anniversary card below was made with die cut hearts in silver and ivory glitter card stocks.  They were taped together with a pearl accent and adhered with foam tape onto card frame and silver card stock.  The sheer white ribbon was wrapped around the bottom and tied with a simple knot.  The sentiment was added to the punched shape and taped down with double layers of foam tape placed on top and bottom of the ribbon knot.  Everything was then taped onto white card front.
The hedgehog card was made by stamping the image with Staz-On black permanent ink onto watercolor paper.  The image was then colored with watercolor pencil and blended with a water brush.  The panel was taped onto black card stock.  The black and white stripe ribbon was taped onto the numbers card front and the image was taped on top with foam tape.  The 'Just a Note' sentiment was stamped with black ink onto white card stock and punched out with scallop circle punch.  It's then adhered onto the bottom right corner with foam tape.
Well that's it for now.  No class on February 20 since it is Presidents' Day.  Until next month!  For those of you who are not in the class, please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

January 23, 2012 Card Making Class

Hello ladies,

Sorry, I am so late posting.  Time just flew right by again!  Of course, I've been busy making Valentine cards for my order.  I post some of them below for you to see.

Below are the cards we made 2 weeks ago.  The first one is a hydrangea anniversary card.  This method is called paper piecing.  First, we stamped on the white card stock and set aside.  We then stamped the blossom portion onto blue pattern paper and leaves portion onto green pattern paper.  Cut out the outline of both the blossom and leaves portions from the pattern papers and glue them on top of the previously stamped white card stock.  Mat it with the green card stock and tape it onto the flap of the card.  Punch out flowers from green card stock, curve the petals and glue on card.  Add pearls to flower centers and sticker sentiment.
This Valentine card below is made by punching the green card stock with scallop border punch.  Glue white card strip onto green border card.  Wrap rose ribbon around both card and tape in back.  Punch out 3 red scallop circles and 3 1-inch circles.  Add dry rose stickers to white circles and glue on top of red scallop circles.  Glue these with foam tape onto ribbon panel as shown.  Add gold sticker sentiment on top portion of card.

This seahorse card is made by putting the stickers onto a sheet of acetate, color the back with Sharpie markers, tape onto the card window, and add the water pattern paper behind it.  The inside of the card is then lined with blue paper to cover up the back of the window.  Punch out shape from white card stock and add sticker sentiment.
The lighthouse was stamped onto white card stock with blue ink and glued onto blue card stock for mat.  Silver cording was wrapped around the bottom of card panel and panel was taped onto white card stock.  Punch out white and blue card stock for sentiment sticker.  Add blue bubbles on top right hand corner.
The cards below are Valentine cards that I made for a lady at work.  She has been ordering cards from me for the past couple of years.  Mainly for Valentine and Mother's Day.  Enjoy!

Fall 2024 - Handmade Greeting Card Workshop, November 6, 2024

Hello everyone, Hope you are doing well. Here is a quick recap of the cards we made last time. Next class meeting will be November 20, 2024....
